Or you could get a kit from DDM Tuning, they're good quality and cheap! I know those two don't go together, but from them they do.

Straight plug and play. There is an install thread here on how to install the slim cubby lights which are similar to the DDM kits. As for 35 or 55, get the 35. Personally, I would get the 5000K lights because they are the brightest light you can get. If you want to see a picture of DDM 5000k lit up, go here and scroll down a little bit.

I don't know how close Corona is to LA, but DDM has two retail locations in CA. Go to their website to check them out. I hear it is a whole lot better to buy them in the store then to have them shipped. Good luck!

EDIT: There is a DDM store in Huntington Beach, and it says it should take about 40 minutes from Corona to get there.

Yeah I probably go and get the kit soon, but I was leaning more toward the 8000k because I like that color blue, but I'm not sure yet.

    stock for now
if your going to go HID at least do it right. your going to have to retrofit in your stock housings. if you dont put HIDs in a projector housing they are not going to function properly.

Selling my 96 Tacoma to fund the FJ80 build up.
I'm not too familure wih the HID's but always ask if they are a "Show" light or do they have the federal D.O.T. stamp. I have always heard that inserting HID's into factory (NON HID) housings was a No No...

Lost of stuff showing up now is sold legally as show only but is implied to be street leagal.
My most recent run in was with buying my 03 TACO Headlights. I could have bought for 1/2 price but they were non DOT show only.

I know many will not care ~ but a few will.

    Also:

    http://isearch.nhtsa.gov/files/Shih.3.html (which reads)

Because replaceable light sources are, by regulation, designed to be non-interchangeable, it would not be possible for an HID headlamp conversion set to meet the standard’s photometry requirements for an original equipment headlamp system using a halogen light source, so the replacement lamps could not be sold for this purpose. Furthermore, a headlamp dealer or motor vehicle repair business could not remove the original halogen headlamps and install HID replacement headlamps without violating 49 U.S.C. 30122.

Great info about legal HID lighting:

HID when done poorly, such as fake HID silverstar, is simply ghetto... this applies to poorly done "real" HID lights..
