It's probably not going to fit 'properly' - it doesn't quite fit 'properly' on the 98 I drive. It's a nice fit, but there is some gapping between the snorkel and the fender. If fit and finish are important, then save up for the Safari Snorkel. The issue here is the molded curve above the front tire. The snorkel is formed for a 'straighter' molded curve, so it doesn't fit flush against the body. It's only noticeable if you have any eye for it...

Mechanically, it fits just fine. Once fastened to the body/A-pillar it is securely attached.

ProTip: Use a brand new hole saw blade for this cut

Any body try using a metal nibbler to cut this large hole?

What he said ^ I haven't seen it installed on a pre-97 that I can recall. If you think it'll work and are not afraid of a bread and butter match, I say go for it. It's not perfect on any truck I have seen. For the price difference, I was okay with the slight fitment gap. Any non-enthusiast would never notice it.

I was skeptical of installing but my buddy talked me into it and it was awesome! Just mark everything up and then drink some beer. Makes drilling all the holes easier

I have no reservations with cutting into my fender... it's already got nicks and dings... cutting holes will only make it look better! I'm still LMAO at this #dorkel, I hope it catches on!

I used a 3.5" hole saw. If you have a Dremel available to you, you'll want it. Makes it easier enlarge the hole a little bit so the snorkel fits on easily. Also nice since it can clean the holes up nicely.

Had to turn my snorkel head around backwards because of the blizzard we're experiencing here in MT. I even had to take it off last night and shake the snow out of the head before starting it. I ordered one of these on Ebay, we'll see if it fits ok.

edit, i ordered both the 3.5" and 3". I'm guessing the 3.5" will be closer

    I've been
I've been rocking the head on mine turned inwards at 90 degrees for a few months now. I had one of these Outerwears pre-filters on for quite a while and it worked well. After the first freezing rain I kept hearing a hissing sound and couldn't figure out where it was coming from until I realized the prefilter was iced over and it was sucking air in through a little gap in the corner of the snorkel head lol.

While I was in Australia, I saw a ton of snorkels with these types of heads on them. Be sure to let us know how it works and I might pick one up

Stumbled across this in the 2nd Gen section (blasphemy!)
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/inesshell-bs-and-lazy-af-build.503871/page-13#post-16139632

Looks like it comes in a 4" flavor and it needs to be adapted with some rubber/silicone pipe couplers.

    Kinda spendy on Ebay:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Replaces-4...871755?hash=item336fe8fb4b:g:8aoAAOSw8XBZrtsI

Looks like it has some type of angled blades on the inside to kick debris and maybe water out the back of it. I noticed that the Ebay one I bought looks to have a similar feature. I'll know for sure when it arrives.

anyway, one more option for those of us who have to deal with snow all the time.

Awesome write up! Just bought one on Amazon yesterday for $145. I'm thinking about also getting a set of Bushwacker fender flares but has anyone had any issues with the fitment of the extended flares in addition to the snorkel? I've heard from one person that they were able to make it fit with some minor trimming of the flare but that was the only person I've heard every try it and they didn't have pictures of the end result.

Here is a picture from the Bushwacker website of the flares I'm looking to get.

    Thank in advance!
