Another pair of those Tonka beetles. These ones have glitter paint and an engine sticking out the back unlike the others. I don’t know if these came on a truck like the others but they do fit.

The 59 Anglia was a stock Lucky Charms die cast that was red and white and had gold hubcaps. This was a easy build once I dissembled it. There is now a fuel cell, batteries and nitrous in the trunk, There is a 455 Buick engine where the stock 1 piece 4 banger used to reside. I made the straight axle and the white paint washed off with reducer and was red underneath which I didn't have to touch. Still have the hood which I will try to cut when I get the nerve. The hard body Nissan is available in turquoise now. Im going to collect all the colors on that one from Matchbox. Wish summer wasn't so far off. My parts boxes are getting empty. architecture Taco world 129.jpg architecture Taco world 136.jpg architecture Taco world 138.jpg architecture Taco world 171.jpg

The dark blue 59 El Camino Gasser is a stock AMT kit that I built and modified severely. The straight axle was made from rear leaf springs and pen ink tubes. The motor is a 455 Buick engine with tunnel ram. The windows were tinted with a red sharpie and water. The rear wheel wells were radiused and rear end narrowed. The Maroon F100 is a Welly 1/24 die cast that I took apart and swapped the wheels on and added most of the details that were missing like side window vents and most of the chrome you see. These come very generic but come out nice if you add what they are missing. I picked up 3 of these recently. The 67 -72 Ford F100s have always been my favorite truck. Gotta 32 Ford Panel I am working on now.architecture Taco world 139.jpg architecture Taco world 140.jpg architecture Taco world 145.jpg architecture Taco world 149.jpg architecture Taco world 148.jpg

The new '87 came in this weekend. In contrast to my other '87 castings, this has nice painted detail of the "Toyota" logo in the grill, versus the plastic chrome on standard castings. It also has similar the detail on the rear and tailgate, with the same rubber tires as my Back to the Future version without the Goodyear logo. I also like how the silver around the windshield adds a nice contrast and makes it pop. They did a nice job with this one.

Coca Cola must be throwing some advertising dollars to AMT and MPC on these model hits. I keep the boxes of the 3 I have built so far from that series. The boxes can be collectable too. I have some boxes that go back into the mid 60s and hold on to any that are related to drag racing. I am buiding the red and white Coca Cola 32 Ford panel right now. Its MPC which are a pain in the ass to build. Poor fit and tiny pieces that often dont fit right. The panel is no exception. Its almost done.

Collection of model car boxes. A couple are 55 years old. The white Ranchero and light green Crestliner are Coca Cola box art.
Last picture is my Tacoma waiting for spring trickle charger and all. Driving a 13 Sienna around for now. Makes you feel old.

You can post anything that you like. Its geared to Hot Wheels but a little bit of everything gets posted. I like seeing everything related to collectable cars in all sizes . I see it here and know what to look for out there.
