every vehicle I have owned with 2 power outlets (one cig lighter) the other for auxiliary power, has power to one all the time. My 2008 Taco SR5 only
has power when the switch is on acc or running this is a big problem because I have to reset my GPS every time I turn off the truck.
Is there an easy fix to get power to one or both of them 24/7??
I read the manual and it states this is the way its suppose to be (what were they thinking)

It is a sort of easy fix that I haven't done myself yet. Basically you take off the panel under the steering wheel to get at fuse box. In there you have to find the relay that controls the outlets. Once you have that you either remove it and jumper the contacts with a short wire, or you open the relay and bend the contacts inside to touch thereby creating constant power. Either way has been done. I plan on modding the relay when I get around to it. The link I was given for instructions was offsite and isn't good anymore and I am unsure if there is one here. I need to find pics to make sure I get the right relay.
