I'm just hitting 50k on my 2021 OR owned since new with no issues just maintenance and tires just replaced could've gone at least 5k or more, my previous 2017 OR (lease) replaced battery around 10k traded in with 30k.

I have a 2019 TRD Sport V6 4WD and has about 37k. It is reliable but sometimes I noticed when accelerating and rolling to stop, it sound like something is rubbing, like the bearing or maybe the brakes and it is coming from the right rear wheels mechanism. I mentioned it to Toyota when I took it for service but they could not duplicate the problem. Another possible issue on cold start, on the front driver side wheel well, I hear something like a belt kind of sounding like a metal rubbing or it one of the belt or bearing need lubrication. It goes away after a while.

162k on my 2016 OR. Done a lot of maintenance and replacing parts but she’s never broke down. Great truck. Going to add an RSI cap if it ever shows up IMG_1566.jpg

So I'm getting PO430 code as well and replaced my O2 sensors first.. how'd you isolate the front vs the rear cats? I'm about to replace all 4 cats as I'm at 162k but curious if you were able to isolate... thanks

    Thanks man.

    How many miles?

The only cats you would need to replace are the ones built into the manifold. The 2nd cats aren’t monitored.

I had to replace mine at 300k. Started throwing P0420 around 244k

67k miles on my 2020 SR. It's never been back to the dealer for anything. I had the transmission flushed at 62k miles, replaced the OEM battery when the truck was 3+ years old and regular oil changes. Zero issues with my Super White Tacoma.

Everything I've done has been either maintenance or upgrades.

My truck has been mostly a trail rig, so it has low miles and lots of off-road use. These are the failures I experienced with factory components:
    • Front diff LH CV seal leaked at 17k, replaced during my CV axle upgrade.
    • LH wheel cylinder blew out at 21k, leaving my stranded until I got a ride to the parts store in a Jeep.
    • RH wheel cylinder blew at 26k, had to get towed.
    • Front LH wheel bearing went at 26k (300 miles after the RH wheel cylinder job), replaced with SKF.
    • T-case extension housing seal leaked at 29k, replaced with OEM because no one makes that seal aftermarket for 3rd gen's beefier T-case.
    Failures with mods and upgrades:
    • Icon LH coilover lower bushing sheared inside the heim bearing after 12k. Replaced using Icon service kit.
    • SPC UCA ball joint boot developed at a tear also around 12k.
    • LH Alpharex headlight developed a short with the sidemarker lamp and blew the TAIL fuse. I just unplugged the sidemarker. Replaced the headlight a few months later because of trail damage.
    • Went through 4 no-name Amazon front cameras. They typically work for a few months then die.

    2021 owned new since 11/2000.

19K miles. 3rd set of tires.

Factory tires replaced @2K miles with Cooper XLT 285/75/17.

    @12K miles, install Toyos 35/12.5/17.

Sold the stocks wheels and tires for 400. Sold the Cooper 34s with 10K miles to my mechanic for $300.

Yearly oil changes and that's it

My exact experience- 2021 TRD OR w 45k miles. Getting ready to replace its original shoes.

Greatest fear? Someone backing up a tow truck and stashing my taco in a shipping container to be sent off to some shithole 3rd world country.

I have now the same problem too. Are they normal wear on catalytic convertors to go bad closer to 100K? I got these codes being thrown at me, and yesterday the reputable truck shop near me to read what the check engine light is for, and they said I need my cats replaced as they are quote "unable to effectively filter out the harmful pollutants per emission standards". My truck is a 2016 model currently at 111K miles. Shop said new left and right catalytic convertors for bank 1 and 2 costs $1236 + plus labor charge to replace them. See pic.
