I made a thing for switches because the thing I wanted didn't exist.

A regular cab with a bobbed bed would look so good on these chassis

so what exactly is shapeways? are they just on the gateway side of it? hooking up people with printers to people who want stuff designed and/or just printed? like an etsy kind of thing for 3d printing? or do they have a ton of printers in a factory and just make all kinds of stuff all day long? I have never heard of it and was look at the website trying to figure out what they actually do

Shapeways is a 3D printing service. You can upload your design and and they will print and mail it to you for a fee.

They have tons of printers in house. The print quality is top notch and they have a variety of print media to choose from. Not the cheapest way to go, but absolutely the best option for selling prints and maintaining quality with spending a fortune yourself.

Is there that much of a difference in color on the final production model?

    Order placed anyway either way.

Color won't be any different, but that photo isn't a great representation due to the texture picking up a lot of the flash. The color of the printed panel looks a lot less out of place then the color of the switches I used.

Awesome, there should be around 10 of them out there by now, according to Shapeways anyway.

Awesome, first 3 switch panel I've seen fully installed. You mind if I swipe that first photo for the Shapeways page? Also, I'd love to see your dual battery setup...

No Problem at all. Still a work in progress, installing the Bussmann Relay/fuse box tomorrow. I still haven't found a 3rd gen dual battery tray online or fab'd one.

Not a pressing project for me right now, but finding one is also an issue. I think it'll work w/ dual yellow tops in the OEM location except batteries rotated 90°. I'll go the fab route if there's nothing on the market when the time comes.

To take the dash pocket/cubby/shelf out you need to pull the kick panel and then the entire lower dash below the wheel. The pocket is held in from behind with four screws.
