I want to carry reserve gasoline in my bed. Any recommendations on the best way? I know I could probably go to the local Army\Navy and get a jerry can but I want to secure it properly.

I also have no idea about how gasoline's shelf-life. I guess I'd need to rotate it every so often and use what in my reserve and refill it.

    Thanks

have a shop fab up a jerry can holder and get a couple cans from a surplus store. Not sure where its located but KR fab is in CA and the do good fab work.

add in some Sta-bil to any fuel you will have in the cans to make it last longer along with rotating it every few months

I'm satisfied with my rotopax setup. It has a mounting plate that rides in the bed rail system. I'm using two of their 2 gal. jugs back to back and went with the optional keyed lock setup. I added a shim of wood between bed and the mounting plate to firm it all up.

This is not a cheap way to go, but i think it looks slick. I went with this for moto fillups on the trail and piece of mind. I rotate them front to back to keep the gas fresh and put STABIL in when i feel like it.

not sure how long…..but i know for sure that it can gunk up if it sits for too long…. add a stabilazer such as Sta-bil and it will be good for a while… i add it to my lawn tractor right before winter and to my snowblower right at the end of winter and they have always fire right up after sitting for months at the time…

One of the expo guys made a cool mount where the spare tire used to be for his rotopax. He had a swing out though.

If you keep it in the bed I'd get either a cam lock style "nato" can or rotopax. Might want a nice mount you can lock up as well, locking across the caps so they can't be taken off. Sta-bil will keep the fuel fresh.
