So thanks for putting the math through the steps on here. I've been reading and reading on adding the bump stops and figuring out cycling the rear suspension to get something that I could actually understand. I think this is going to help me make a good decision on the stops and shocks after the rear lift.

    Welcome.

The most critical take away for me was knowing where to measure from on the shock. I'm still running the same shock and springs and love the combo!

Hey Crom, how are the b110 holding up? Do you still have the Dakar springs and the b110 shocks?

I'm curious how they are holding up for the members running them too.

I have a 2013 Tacoma Baja dcsb that has completely worn out leafsprings and a blown driverside Bilstein 5160 shock at 34k miles.. I already have another set of oem 4 leaf leafsprings with Wheelers 3 leaf ad a leafs setup already installed ready to go on my truck but I need to replace the blown out shock (preferably both at the same time). I'm going to call Bilstein tomorrow to see about getting it replaced under warranty as well as contact my extended warranty company about them covering it as well if Bilstein doesn't.

If both say no than I'd like to get these B110 5100's instead of shelling out the $$$ for new 5160's. I plan on lifting my truck a couple inches down the road. It'll have about 1.5-2" from the add a leafs. I have a new Allpro shackle flip kit to use with the taller leaf pack. I also have Firestone Ride Rite Airbags with Daystar Cradles so I don't need bumpstops. I don't offroad my truck because I have a dedicated rock crawler for that. I tow a utility trailer that I use on a regular basis (nothing too heavy).

Crom, your info on the shocks are really helpful.

Guys. These shocks are the REAL DEAL! Got to stretch mine out this week and MAN OH MAN this travel is literally unbeatable. They are the longest shocks on the market for factory bolt in replacement I believe.

Nice shots man. I have been considering this and your photos (plus having the same rear lift as me) has led to me pulling the trigger.

I saw you didnt get the bump stop spacers. Are you hitting the bump stop before bottoming out your shocks? Have you hit them hard and fast yet? Meaning the bump stop would have been really compressed and still didnt bottom out the shock?

Did you get the +2 or +4 extensions? If +2, at full droop they were good?

    Thank you!

-I did get 5/8 bump extension spacers from wheelers but I haven’t installed them yet & based on my flex ramp findings, I will not be installing them but they are handy if I end up blowing a shock (great warranty on b110’s).
-I have a video showing what my superbumps look like when the b110 shock is literally completely fully compressed and the superbump is squished down maybe half an inch.
-considering above^ I SHOULD put the spacers on the bumps but I never wheel fast enough to full bump compression of the axle. If I’m doing that I’m breaking sh_\. I go slow and steady when I wheel and even at 50mph on dirt fire roads I don’t believe the rear actually fully stuffs at all.
-I got the longest wheelers extended lines they sell. I believe they are +4 & those and even my rear diff breather tube we’re not naut at full droop on the drivers side when I drooped it

This is a pic from the flex ramp where you can clearly see the shock has no more compression left in it. Again, I realize it would be prudent to install the spacers I have for them but I haven’t yet.

    Thanks @singletrack_ftw

That picture is what I needed.

Do you think +2 are long enough? I worry about catching the +4 going over sticks, rocks, etc.

    Appreciate ya bro.

Absolutely would not be concerned with the +4 catching on things. Absolutely go for the longest brake lines you can. That way if you ever do shock relocation or shackle flip in the rear with crazy droop you have no worries. They won’t hang at static ride height even with +4 ectensions. They go up towards the body
