I've searched the towing section here, but couldn't find an answer to my question. I have an '09 4x4 access cab, and when I bought it, I had th deaer install the OEM hitch and 4-pin harness. I do not have the towing package. According to the installation instructions for the harness, the towing converter is present somewhere in my truck (I have yet top verify this).

My question is: how easy is it to install a brake controller with my setup? I'm thinking I actually need a 7-pin harness, to take account of the trailer brakes connections. (If I buy a trailer with electric brakes, I want to be able to use them).
