Is it wrong to compare a '19 Taco vs. '19 Wrangler?

    Wait...

Now we're comparing RC Jeeps vs. Tacomas?

I think we can do better than that.....

Some want Wrangler’s off-road capability. Others like being able to remove the top and doors. A few others want to be seen in one.

Personally, I liked its overall maneuverability, off-road prowess, driver comfort and ease of modification. I didn’t like its assembly quality or on-highway driving.

As Wrangler prices shot through the roof, but assembly quality and service didn’t get any better, I stopped seeing its value.

Apparently we're talking about RC Wranglers in this thread....how do you feel about them?

Buddy has a 4 door rubicon wrangler. We took it to Colorado. It was a blast cruising around in the mountain air with no top or doors. It was not a blast spending 30 minutes removing the top and doors. Then spending another 30 minutes 3 hours later putting them back on after it clouded up and threatened to storm. As other have said, quality was noticeably lower than our 4Runner and Tacoma

Seems there are five types of "truck" buyers:

    1) Those who cross shop Ford, Chevy, Dodge
    2) Those who cross shop Toyota, Jeep, Subaru (and maybe Volkswagen or Audi, not trucks but for whatever reason people consider them alongside trucks)
    3) Those who are cheapskates and shop Nissan Frontiers
    4) Those who are oddballs and go for unusual trucks... Hummers, Mercedes, Cadillac, Isuzu
    5) Those who are excessively practical and shop Honda Ridgelines

I noticed a HUGE quality difference. The Wrangler felt like it was made of plastic. very creeky while going over small bumps/ruts in the sand. At highway speeds, the air leaks were countless.

In fairness, yer buddy is a dope. You don’t screw around with a hardtop every time you want the top off. You put the hardtop on in the fall and take it off in the spring. Otherwise, get a soft top.

Agreed, soft top is the way to go. Good memories wheeling around in AZ in my friend's '93 Wrangler soft top

    I like your list.

There are also those who cross shop Dodge/Ram and Jeep.

And I see a few Tacoma owners on here giving Ridgeline a wistful look... —they should be banned!

I had a 2019 Wrangler Sahara as a rental for a couple weeks after hitting a deer at 70mph on the interstate with my 2019 Tacoma.
The entire time I was driving the Wrangler I was comparing it to the Tacoma and much I prefer the Tacoma.
