Welcome! I’m in arlington. Check out the northern Virginia roll call thread, a bunch of guys around here.

As for truck, I went with SR5 and haven’t had any issues off-road yet (knock on wood). Which included bald mountain jeep trail in the snow. Depending on the trails you plan on going with you’ll be fine without a locker around here. Not everyone I’ve gone wheeling/camping with have a locker.

As far as fox suspension goes, @quis23 runs Fox coilovers and I think he likes them a lot, especially compared to bilsteins but he could give more details haha.

My mom has a 2 door and brother has a 4 door. 4 door feels a lot more planted on the highway and steering input is less twitchy. Bumps are a little smoother with the longer wheel base as well. Both are worlds above my old TJ... Figured another opinion couldn't hurt :D

I'm trying to understand the logic of why a Pro would benefit a female driver. Suspension? Plenty of options that would ride as well (if not better) than a stock Pro. I'm not looking down on the Pro, because it looks pretty sweet. But I don't see how it brings any value to what this guy is looking for. And a lift/tires would not void the warranty.

You must be a newlywed or not married.

The answer to the question of life = dual climate control. That is better than a diamond ring.

This man makes a solid point, pretty sure my last GF broke up with me because I didn't have dual climate control... She wanted the car to be a freezer when it was warm or max heat with 3 jackets on when it drops below 60.

Not worth it, too much maintenance...:angrygirl:

Do what I did and find one that comes with a 4x4 Toyota truck, you’ll be oh so much happier!

My non-PRO Tacoma has dual climate control. And heated seats. And even if it didn't, my wife isn't that prissy or privileged to complain about something so petty. I drove a beat up Honda when we first got married. We were lucky it had heat and a semi-functioning A/C.

Pro vs SR5 which is what they had been talking about.
My wife served as a captain in the air force during desert shield and storm. She was a flight nurse on C130's. She doesn't get sick at 500 ft nap of earth flying in a storm. She is an expert marksman. She was one of two that didn't have to be "rescued" during a two week survival skills exercise in the desert.

She loves dual climate control though...
Don't judge. She is 61 and can outshoot me and I don't worry about her going to the store late at night, I worry about the poor fool that decides to attack her.

Dual Automatic Climate Control is in one of the packages on the OR (Premium or tech, I forget... probably premium). I have it on my '16 OR.

Ah, okay, my bad. I have the tech on my 16 OR so it must be the premium. Looks like it's standard on the Pro though.

By 10K i meant $10k... 25,000 miles or 3 years whichever comes first (someone can correct me on this)

Good info, I’ll take a look at all three, though I’ll lean more towards the sport or OR. I’m not sure how much I’ll need the locker, but it’s nice having if you do. As far as the Jeeps ride, I tested the 18 JLU and I must say it doesn’t even ride like a Wrangler, I was impressed. It was comfortable and smooth. I think I would have bought the Rubicon if we didn’t haul so much stuff around and need a truck bed. Regardless, I’m looking forward to owning a truck. One of the hardest parts for me is finding wheels I like. I’ve always stuck to AEV rims on the Jeeps. I saw a video on YouTube of a 6” lifted pro with Fuel Rippers, they looked good. I’ve never been a fan of huge rims on lifted trucks or Jeeps, but these 20” rippers where nice. Granted these where mounted on 35s. I would never go with 20’s mounted on a 32” tire.

Well I went to get an off road with tech and prem pkg and ended up getting the pro. Pro sticker was 3000 difference but it was worth it to me because I wanted the pro grill and sport hood and trd exhaust. I did lose sunroof but I'm ok on that and didn't care about JBL. I plan on going with bigger lift and tires and would with the off road also but selling the fox suspension should bring lot more selling it over off road suspension. Mine is still stock so far . Love the truck. Only issue I have is seat comfort and hope to get that figured out somehow.

I used to have a Wrangler Sahara (1996) which I traded in for an 01 Taco TRD OR. Fast forward 17 years later, I still own my 01 Taco and now a 2018 TRD Pro (Cavalry Blue) and a 2018 TRD OR (Cement). I bought the Pro as my rig in GA where I won't have much time to do mods (family duties). I bought the OR as my CA car where I have more time to do mods. You can not go wrong with the Pro.

No worries, I was just curious. I'm sitting at 43k right now so I was pretty sure I was out of warranty anyway.
