    Chris,
Interested on the driving light you have, the ones that are white and only turn yellow when turn mod is actuated.

Finally got the DTRL's installed today.

Quick question: prior to the DTRL install I was able to turn off the DTRL's completely. After the install, the DTRL's and the parking lights are always on even when the switch is in the off position.

Anyway to correct this? or did I somehow install incorrectly?

holy hell. i had some difficulty with the amber/white dtrl install, but chris was able to help me out eventually.

these are some tips i feel are important when doing the install. i have an 07.

    taking apart dash
referencing this post is helpful in taking apart the lower dash for access to the box:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/1475-05-drl-daytime-running-lights-install-oem.html

    checking resistors
before you install the resistors, be sure to check both male spade connectors on each resistor. after i installed everything, i kept getting hyper-ricer-flash which told me the circuit wasn't completed. i found out that the wiring from the resistor wasn't clamped correctly to the spade. i had to uncrimp the connector, insert the wiring again (to make metal to metal contact) and crimp the connector again. once i did that, the resistors were fine.

    t-taps on dtrl bulb wiring
another thing, the t-taps that you place on the dtrl bulb wires need to make contact with the bare wire. if you clip the t-taps on the dtrl bulb wiring, finish the intall, and you still get hyper-ricer-flash, check the t-taps. mine did not penetrate the wiring enough - they were clipped on the insulation and did not make contact with the wiring beneath.

getting a wire through the firewall
use this thread to help you get a wire through the firewall. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/71563-help-me-get-through-blasted-firewall.html
i used a stiff metal rod (you could use a coat hanger), taped the wire to the end using electric tape, and pushed it from the inside of the truck through to the engine bay. this is the wire that comes from the 30 connection (off the relay) and goes to your driver side dtrl bulb (empty hole next to the other wires coming out the back).

    - use a multimeter to check the wires. i had done everything except for this. chris reminded me to do this in order to make sure.

    - do this install in a warm garage or in warm weather. i froze to death doing this in negative F temps. not ideal. cold beer only makes you colder.

    - you'll need a wiring tool (stripping, crimping, cutting), female spades and butt connectors for 18 wire, a roll of 18 wire. these are in the instructions, but will help if you can get these beforehand.

finally, these are my instructions and tips only. chris is helpful and wants to ensure you do things the correct way. don't blame him for instructions other people post here. if you decide to do things your way and it doesn't work, it's not his fault either. if you need help, pm him.

i'm still new here, but i figured i would try and help others with these tips. this forum has already helped me so much, however, it has cost me a lot of money in mods...haha. good to give back to the forum, and above all else...search. you'll find it on this forum somewhere.

Sorry was out in the desert and just got back. I know I answered some pms yesterday. For the people that pmd me today Im about to go through them and you will get an answer shortly.

The way the 12s, and 13s are the dtrls and the parking split off the same power so when you add power for the white side of the dtrl the parkjings are on as well. Its the way that toyota I guess was trying to minimize the number of wires used.

Its all depending on which year tacomas. The 05-13 bulbs are the same, the 1st geners are a little tricky on that though.
