I do not think they will offer a tsb on the '13s, since there is a model available with the 4 pack springs (yes 3 + 1 overload).

It's the principle of it... I want Toyota to do it... They've apparently known about the weakness and supposedly done a redesigned leaf pack... and it's still weak.

haha... if I used the Tacoma to haul alot of heavy stuff I would pay for it and fix it myself. I have my Tundra to handle everything I need. It just bugs me when I go to sit on the tailgate and the truck squats

I just bought a used 2010. I took to a local dealership to see if I they would be able to do the leaf spring TSB. It took them all day to "evaluate" the truck (kind of a joke since this is a documented issue), but I went along with the program. They told me that my truck did qualify for the leaf spring TSB, but, as of now (this was on 5/30/13) Toyota has halted all work on the leaf spring TSB. The service manger told me Toyota is about to issue an "improved" solution to the leaf spring TSB very soon and that I will need to wait 30-60 days for the new TSB recommendations from Toyota. I asked what the new solution is, he said he had no idea.
I am wondering, has anyone else recently been told this TSB is "on hold" pending a new solution?

Excuse my ignorance, but, how many leafs do I have? 3 or 4? Here's a pic...

Well I'll let you know what Toyota gets in when they replace both my leaf springs. When I bought my '13 DCSB TRD offroad about a week ago I didn't notice the brackets in front of the axle that hold the packs together were bent. All the dealer and I could guess is that from the port to dealership some one held it to the delivering truck with chains mounted in that area, which bent the brackets. So 2 new leaf packs are one order.

My current ones look to be 2leafs + 1overload.
I'll post back when they work is performed, and if I get different style leafs.

I fought with corp vs via email for a month and got no where. My 2009 was ok after TSB. 2013 sucks even with 4 leaf pack. I now have the Hellwig 550s but the ride rough on concrete hwys.

Do you know how much this will improve the load carrying? Even with the Hellwigs I still get more sag than I would like. I got almost 2" with 500 lbs on end of bed. I am sure it would have been less if I postioned the load over the axle.

Have a 2013 reg. cab 3000 miles on it, loaded 4 pieces of 3/4" plywood, almost scared to drive the truck home. 2 leafs with the overload. The way I see it, these trucks can not haul what they say they are rated for. Will be talking to may the salesman that sold me the truck and how I feel I was mislead. This is not a 1/2 ton truck as it was sold to be. I had less than 400 pounds in it and was almost bottomed out.

Geeez..bus grammatical mistakes... I must have had a few. This progressive pack turns your stock 3 leaf (2 w/ overload) into a 5 leaf system. It should greatly enhance your load carrying capabilities while adding lift. Its the cheapest route I found without replacing the whole thing or building new ones.

i don't think you will get much out of the sales person. your best bet would be to speak to a manager and see what they can do for you.

Meh. I have the 2013 TRD Offroad package with the wimpy springs and have been hauling 750 pounds of sand and gravel all morning. Springs almost flat, but not quite. Let's keep it real, eh?

it took a month of complaining and a lot of calls to the corporate office about week springs and the driveline vibration but i finally got them to change the leaf springs out to the 3 plus overload springs out

i have a campershell on my truck, when i loaded up some of my guns and ammo to go to the range my truck had the bro lean going on.. 500 lbs. and the camper shell had my truck riding on the bumpstops

Took my 12 OR DBLC with tow package into the dealer after I put a ARE CX topper on because the back end sat down dramatically. Dealer said it was fine and tried to walk me over to their parts depot to sell me some airbags. I passed on the dealer bags, but now when they send me service updates it always says that they recommend airbags as an "important" service. Perhaps it's a bit odd that I would have to purchase an aftermarket suspension package just to truly utilize the truck's towing ability.

I could not agree more. I have a '07 that i can not put a 4 wheeler in the bed.
It is supposed to be a 1/2 ton truck. My manual even states the load capacity is 1005 lbs. Not so! Take it back to the dealer, call corporate, write a letter. I don't get how toyota could put out a vehicle that can not handle any real load in the bed. How can they call it a truck?

My truck can not handle 648 lbs in the bed with the springs totally flat & the bumpstops hitting the frame.
    Thats keeping it real.
