Lifts and offroading...is it worth it???

    One of the lift kits that go up to 3" does increase the clearance of your front differential. It does not increase your axle clearance in the rear.

    Ironically, a bigger 6" lift increases neither the front or rear differential clearance.

    The only way to gain clearance of the rear axle is bigger tires.

    ALL lifts will increase your approach, break over, and departure angles.

King Off-Road Shocks 2.5 with Resi's for the rears, Rear Spring TSB, KMC XD Enduros 16x8, Black Vinyl Fenders, Bed compartment locks, Cobra 19 DX IV with Lil Wil mag mount antenna, CoverKing Seat covers front and rear, Built Right UCAs, Aluminess Expedition Bumper, GY Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar 265/75-16, Custom hybrid style rock sliders.
    Get a lift, then get 265/75/16 will gain you another inch in diameter over your stock tires. Or just keep your regular tires for now until you can get bigger ones. If you plan on off roading, stick with a 16 inch tire so you will have more rubber. Lift no more than 2.5 and stock UCA should be okay. I am King lifted around 2-2.5 and a TSB rear left spring...and I wheel just about every weekend. Just stay within your limits when you wheel. If you are not prepared for a trial, then don't do it. Also with my lift I gain more travel...that helps a lot with wheeling.

    3" Lift, Camburg Coil-Overs and UCA, 3" All Pro Leafs and OME rear shock, 33X12.5R17 Mickey Thompson on teflon coated American racing rims, Black headlight mod, Black taillight mod, tourneau cover, cargo divider, door sil protecors.
    Look at my signature....3 inch lift with 33x12.5 in tires......did all the work myself got good quality parts and everything cost me $2000 (includung tires rims and a full size spare)

    do some research and look on craiglist for a wheel tire combo...you will get a lot more for your buck

    i bought front suspension and UCA's from and i bought the rear leafs from
    no spacers, no ad a leafs, no low quality product (not top of the line) but def not low quality.

    i was in your shoes when i got my truck and i did about 3 months of research before i bought

    My last truck. Icon coilover with TC UCAs up front. OME Dakar rear leafs with nitrocharger shocks in the back. 285/70/17 BFG ATs on Procomp 7089s (I do not recommend Procomp rims). All pro sliders, All pro plate bumper, Mile Marker 12,000lbs winch. It later got a Safari Snorkel.

    Then I rolled it :/

    With at least one person who's done a lift before, you can do the Toytec Ultimate lift in a few hours depending on tools, facilities, and extra hands.

    So your talking about putting the 5100's on and the Toytec??? Also, WHat do you do about the rear???

    Do you just add the 5100's on the rear???

    That's an excellent choice. You can definitely save some coin by doing it yourself. It's very easy to do, just requires some time. Don't forget to get an alignment afterwards.

    Allright sweet!!! I think that's all im gonna do for now. Get some 265's KM2 or Hankook M/T and hit the trail. Im gonna have to find sombody to fab up some protection for my truck now...LOL

    It depends too what kind of lift. A skyjacker/Procomp/Rancho whatever drop bracket lift involves cutting the frame... I would think hacking your frame apart would void any warranty. A simple spring/shock lift shouldn't void anything unless you snap a CV or something they may not cover it.

    A spring/shock type lift will not damage your truck because it does not change your suspension geometry. The stock cycle of the susupension doesn't change, your truck just sits higher in the cycle at normal ride height.
