I would be interested in these. And if you had plates to box in the whole section under the cab.

I don’t have a file for a long bed but I can easily cut that out if you want it all boxed in. Would you want cutouts for anything specific like brake line areas or anything?

edit, my bad Iv been at work the past 14hrs under a hot welding hood. No difference in long bed I can sort both you guys out.

There’s a lot of crazy IFS builds on Pirate. Tim Cameron even has an IFS rig. Having cut the back of the truck off I’m not opposed to cutting the front off too, but I haven’t seen many taco SAS done that great and not sitting on the front bumps or too tall. 40’s on IFS and 934’s would be a fun test.

IDK what SAS trucks you're looking at but there are nicely done ones on here

If you feel the need to stick with IFS you can build anything - it's more expensive and technical once you start centermounting stuff.

Not saying they aren’t out there for second gens, just haven’t seen anything worth the trouble over what I already have. Not yet at least. With the recent news of JD making a vertical spindle upgrade for the LT kits I could likely squeeze even more travel out of the front.

Interesting, so more ride height like with portals? I don't think travel is what's limiting with ifs before diff size, boot rub for ride height, and axle strength. Without pushing your front wheels forward you'll be kissing your firewall goodbye with 40's on ifs (or SAS)

It’ll be a vertical uniball spindle and new uppers from what I understand. Firewall will be low on the list of concerns if I jump to 40’s haha 37s will be a good placeholder to build up the truck before going straight to 40s

So let me get this straight - you're getting more up travel without moving the wheel forward. Have you already tubbed for 37's? I've tubbed for 35's on my 1st gen which is essentially tubbing for 37's on a 2nd gen. 3 more inches would essentially force me rebuild most of the firewall outside of the frame.

I’m on 35s currently. 37’s will require a little more work than I’ve already done but mostly up front since the JD kit moved the tires forward 0.85” and I over cleared for 35s. 40’s will take much much more obviously, but I’ll remove whatever’s in the way and build it back. Or I’ll move the tires forward some how. Who knows. It’ll be a long time from now so it’s all :jerkoff: until it’s time to cut things up.

Another option that will help with clearance is removing the anti dive from the uca mounts. Help the wheel come straight up and not pull it back towards the firewall when you are cycling. I just bought some new mounts from mitchmadeinc he’s on Instagram, had him make some designed for 10” coilovers since I’m pretty much maxed out on my 8’s with my dirt designs kit.

Your comparing apples to oranges here.

full tube chassis with portals and 40 spline shafts and center mount to a stock Tacoma frame with some bolt on parts.

i think that’s one of the only builds I’ve seen with a tundra 9” front diff fitted in…. I’ve always thought about trying one but after seeing them side by side it would take a lot of work to make it fit.

It was more a comment on IFS becoming more common in crawling/bouncing in general. It’s pretty obvious a bouncer and a Tacoma are not in the same ballpark.

That’s what inspired me lol, I’m suprised you haven’t came out with a frame chop to strengthen the frame with better hardware up front while keeping stock points. That’s what iv been working on drawing up.
