just a couple of things tbh
well thought i would start this and have more of a thread dedicated for my trailer progress

    truck and trailer .jpg
so here it is my 1953 M100 military trailer its in good shape besides the tongue that needs to be cut off and replaced will update as we go.

    Installed items:

-no weld rack from compact camping solutions:89.99.
-full aluminum hard top made by my neghibor and his shop thanks again Brian!:350.
-security rtt mounts from wheel every weekend:150 i think?
lock n roll hitch assembly truck side 4" drop:163, trailer side:133.
-tongue rework and redesign:350 more then i wanted to spend but it is what it is.

    Wish list for the trailer:

-low profile rack to hold my tent:Done
-hard top to keep things dry and clean from weather:Done
    -tailgate maybe?:changed my mind maybe?
    -eventually different tires
-solar pannel and a battery for onboard lights
    -some type of cooking setup
-water port for showers and or cleaning dishes
    -front jack
-side jacks to make the trailer sit level when camping
    - some type of slide out for the grill so i dont have to always set it up

    Purchased items for the trailer
    -all new lights
    -title and plate
    -lock n roll hitch system
    -wheel everyweekend rtt security locks
-compact camping low pro rack for m100/m416
    -custom aluminum hard top
-latches to hold the lid down

this list will either grow or stay the same.

    Reason for the trailer:

-so the reason for me building a trailer is to get the weight off my truck ive had a low pro rack from kb voodoo (junk bed rack fell apart in less then a year...) that setup was nice it keep the weight down low and less drag but a pain to access stuff in my bed.

-next is my current rack a all pro aluminum pack rack system its a great setup besides one thing all my weight is up top and makes me a bit more tipsy so im looking to get rid of all that weight up high and put it on a trailer to make a base camp so i can then unhitch from the trailer and go wheeling and such.

    how it sits currently

not much progress but so far all lights now work and we now have a title for the trailer (kansas dosent need a title for trailers so its never had one) i also have a plate for the trailer finally so its legal!

i just ordered the lock n roll hitch so soon i will be cutting the tongue off the trailer and fixing the front then it will be time to move on to making the rack and top for the trailer and maybe a tailgate for easy access

I'd have to get, at least, the dent in the door fixed that would drive me nuts

ahh you are talking about the little red trailer ya i still have that one but i wont be using it i got the m100 a month or so ago for a good price its a better platform to build off of

    scrapped trailer build idea.jpg
this is what @Casper66 was talking about this trailer was going to be my project but i decided to scrap that idea and just use this trailer as what ever i need it for i will eventually fix it up and have it as a good haul around trailer but it wont be my camping trailer

This is a really cool trailer. It's compact but not too small. Youwill have to plan things out a little more due to a lack in abundanc eof space but that is all part of the fun of it. Each area will have to be figured out and configured to function together. The bed rack will have to function with the bed cover, the bed cover will have to function with in bed storage. I wish you had a way to invest in a welder and I know you have the drive to learn. so many cool things could be made to go with this. You have me wanting to find one just to build and sell

ya the top will most likely just be a hard top thats bolted down and ill make a tailgate and make a bedslide to be able to access things. i plan to get a shell or something on the truck so if i need more room for storage it will go into the truck. it should be a fun build just slow lol. id like to have a welder but no place to use one so no need to buy one family friend has one and i can learn that way until i have a place to use a welder then ill buy one

I am thinking a 2 drawer system in th floor of the trailer like a decked system but made to fit the trailer. one drawer for storage and the other for a camp kitchen. It would only come as high as where the trailer starts to widen with a solid deck on top of it. Then a lid that is slightly raised and hinged in the middle. Stuff could be stored on top of the platform under the lid and if you needed anyting you could just raise the front or rear section of the lid to access it. Then the rack would only be as high as I needed to raise the lid enough to access what is under it. The rack could also hace rotopax on one side and traction boards on the other.

Just came across your thread, cool trailer and a sweet project. Just throwing some fuel on your idea fire, I have a CVT trailer that's based on the M100 and they incorporated the rack into a hinged cover which is pretty convenient.

Thanks, the table is from Front Runner. I made a bracket to hang a solar shower over the basin for washing whatever. Good luck with the build!

 that's almost exactly what i was talking about. I was thinking hinged across the middle though and not attached to the rack so it could be opened without disturbing the tent. It could all function independantly. That's a really well built trailer though i lke that. You guys have me looking for millitary trailers now. :smash:
