I find I've always prefered a more sloped back seat bottom. I ended up stacking about 3/8's of an inch of washers under the front seat feet and using longer bolts to attach the seat to the floor. It helps keep my ass to the back where it should be, I've found regardless of what I'm sitting in I tend to melt toward the floor unless it's tipped back some.

After 20+ yrs in a full size truck. I felt like I was sitting on a bucket, ass low. 1" rear spacers helped a lot, wet okole seat covers helped even more.

Ya. The holes wont line up on the fronts if it's raised because of the slant. Raising the back with exact size washers and a longer bolt worked pretty good for me. It just feels like the proper seating position. If you opt for it, make sure you use high strength bolts.

I used 10.9 10x50 bolts and grade 8 lock washer. I made the spacers from .05" 1"x2" aluminum 6061 flat bar stock. I figure to take some criticism but don't mind hearing your thoughts.

I was trying to get this photo in there also. It isn't the height the seat but the angle that I like better.

I removed my driver side seat last winter and removed the lower seat cover and foam. I cut out the middle portion of the lower and replaced it with a square of softer foam. Once the contact adhesive set up, I shaped it with an angle grinder and a flap wheel. I reinstalled the cover, put the seat back in and it's much more comfortable now. It was kind of a bitch but the TRD Off Road seats are kind of stiff.
If anyone is interested, I think I have a couple of pictures of the process. I should have taken more. It turned out really well.

I created brackets to raise the front and back of my drivers seat. There is not a lot of room for a tall person to do this though.

This, a set of seat covers will completely change how it feels. I put a set of leather clazzios and the seats are great now.

Just me maybe but I would NEVER changed how the seat bolts to the cab, too many safety issues IMO. The seatbelts and airbags are designed with a certain seating position in mind and changing those could change how well they protect you in a crash.

I saw a post a while back where someone took their seat to an upholstery shop. They will cut the seat foam to custom fit your body type.

I was thinking about getting some of those fancy seat covers. My wife really likes heated seats and this is the first vehicle in years that I have owned with out those. However, if you raise the base of the seat or the seat cushion material in order to sit higher I don't understand how airbags would be affected differently?

On a related subject, is there any such thing as an aftermarket kit to make the seats electrically adjustable?

After testing a couple height options (rear only) using stacked large nuts and washers I settled in on 32 mm added height, made spacers on 1-1/4" aluminum round stock and used longer higher strength bolts. This got my butt out of the sunken pit Toyota seemed to want it in--did the wife's side too, she likes it.

Not to shit on your mod, (and I'm no engineer), but I would think the lateral force on that bolt in an accident with it being raised the way it is would multiply exponentially over one being bolted directly to the floor.

This has been brought up before; I am an engineer (MSME MIT '71) and can assure you the stresses and strains are well under control with this mod. The specifics are discussed in this post...
