I didn't go near the core support. I would notch the frame rails. Are you tucking the frame rails in a bit?

Got the fenders off and everything off the fender wells/core support. I already bought the tubing so going to do an engine cage to tie into an internal cage. B6CD5BE5-3B88-4716-B478-2B4C8A808DE8.jpg

Any more picture of this and where it’s tied into the firewall?
I was going to do this but I want to raise the frame rail to be level with the oil pan so I don’t have to notch it for more uptravel. Trying to keep the rails same width ish just higher.

Superjoints and kingpin rebuilds and inner shafts showed up today. Just need to pull the trigger on hubs and I’ll have everything.

More progress. Front end is cut off. Got the new frame tubes cut and slid into the old frame. Time to start plating and gussetting it and do the motor mounts.

I promise the radiator is crooked lol251F6465-E878-4038-9F7A-A7724672B99E.jpg EB3FE449-509D-4D32-BA08-E07DDFB8A647.jpg

can’t beat that for sliding it in and eyeballing it. That’s 180 degrees to the bottom of the frame under the cab 2529CEE3-98D4-41FA-8971-1F65552223E2.jpg 1D27444D-A10A-45EB-A0EE-06FA5EF3A5C4.jpg

Got the frame plate templates made and one side done on the outside. Was excited to do this but it’s kicking my butt lol need to find some more 3/16 and get it all welded up and then it’s on to engine mount and links

Making these frame plates can be so time consuming.
After being cut on the plasma and before clean up and holes

Outside of the frame is plated and motor mounts are in. It stayed level to the frame so that’s good. It flexes a little when jacking it up from way up front but still need to plate the inside the frame.

That looks good! Some flex is good so you don't break the frame rails and crack welds and cross members.

Yeah I think it’s partly due to no inside plating yet and the back top of the new frame is still open. Going to have to undo the cab and jack up the front to finish the weld though...

Yea those welds sucked from what I remember. A lot of welding via a mirror from what I remember. I didn't undo the cab, I probably should have! Curious to see if that makes it any easier.

Inside frame plates kicked my ass... didn’t even get one side done. This showed up in the mail so I put it together and it eats material like nothing.

I have the template for the steering box so that should actuallly be easy unless I have to notch the frame for the box because the radiator may be in the way.
