How do I make the inner lens on my 2007 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport work as a daytime running light like the new 2012 tacoma's? Or even use it as a marker lights?

I wish they did, and yes there is a bulb in there. When I use the blinker for left or right that is the only time the inner lens in used on my truck. The outside lens lights up when I turn on the marker lights. Not sure if the previous owner messed with it or not.

Interesting...I wish I knew how to keep mine from coming on. I switched mine with silverstar clear bulbs because I didn't like seeing yellow on the front of my truck all the time. If you find out how yours aren't coming on let us know...I'd love to turn my running lights off.

Ok will do. I'll go talk to the Toyota dealership and see what they have to say.

Got alot I want to do but we'll see, that's what the forum is for...
You got two ways to do it. You can search in the tip/mods for an actual DTRL that will go off with parking lights. Or there should be a third unused wire plug in the socket. You can tap off the green wire for power off the corner light if you can get ahold of a female pin to match the male pin in the socket. I work at a BMW dealership and we had one that matched up with a gromet so no silicone was needed. Check the mod turtial at the top. Search button is key on this forum. You should search first. I have learned that over the year I have owned mine but this forum has a lot of useful info.

I took my truck in today for that same reason, Toyota tells me that it is normal that those lights don't turn on that only some models work that way. They said that light only works for haz and blinkers, funny thing is that the build is a double element, we don't need a double element for just blinkers ans haz. Something seems wrong, I have never seen a vehicle without front marker lights, yes we have side front markers but we do not have actual front markers, hope this is not a ticket.
