Meso V5 turn signals are out!!!!

Just as a note, when I was testing, vehicle engine was off and parking brake on. I just pressed the start button twice to test. Then I tested with vehicle engine off and parking brake off, same results.

Does car engine have to be running as well? I will try this after work in the evening.

 

You are correct.

 

Not 100% sure, I defer to Caribe, but the DRL on your headlights being bright should be clear and obvious and that tells you you have the right DRL signal.

It's possible I gave you a v5 T harness which has the DRL tapped off ground by mistake? That would make me really really sad. Clear photos might help. I would have to be a big time idiot to mess that up.

 

I got the harness from meso's site. You're in the clear for now, lol

Meso's harness pig tail wiring has a red and white wire so I'm assuming the red and white wire from the v5's connect to each color appropriately. Post #116 photo lower right shows the harness I received.

 

What did you do to get the Halogen DRL to transfer the input to the LED headlights? There are a few things to tweak to get it to work correctly. @Puppypunter

That does not fix the DRL issue, unless you had LED DRL's with the Halogen headlights.

Sheesh. My driver side drl (v5 mirror) is out, I had initially thought it was my harness (meso adapter, through firewall) I replaced all that and it’s still out. Now I’ve got see if I still have the original, it has a few bulbs out, and this is the replacement. I feel like a dumbass with one fancy mirror and one plain.

 

Yeah I'm a 2017 and also under the assumption it would have that function. Yup

 

@mokeiko, if the V5 stay on one illuminated feature of the DRL part, I think that maybe they are getting only one input. Maybe a bad wire tap or terminal in the harness to the headlights.

Do you think it’s safe take the v5’s red wire and touch the battery + post and then do the v5’s white wire after to see if there’s a brightness change?

 

This is OK to do, though it's a slight bit better if you can somehow stick a 5 amp fuse on it just in case, even you just twist wires and electrical tape it. A short jumper with inline fuse from battery post to butt connector probe might be worth the time to build for troubleshooting.

DRL T looks good, you heard an audible click when securing it to both connectors? And I assume the driver headlight functions as you expect, the C is bright in DRL and Park, dim in low and high beam settings, OFF when stalk is off?

From the butt connectors through the firewall I only see one pair of red/white so at some point you join that to the two mirror signals? In the driver kick panel? Can you get a photo of that?

So far nothing in the photos stands out as a problem to me, everything looks as expected.

So glad I had the puddle pods installed! Only took a few minutes to install the V5 turns with the DRL whites plugging into the puddle pods. I was NOT wanting to mess with that door boot again and didn’t want to run it to the headlights. Good luck man!!

I will say the white DRLs are as awesomely bright as I thought they’d be and go great with the rest of my white lights. No amber over here! Still, great info ITT

yes, passenger side didn't have enough slack to reach driver side headlight.

In the driver kick panel? Can you get a photo of that?
