I would like to do the map light mod to where they turn on when the dome light turns on. I have found 3 am rectifier diodes and was wondering if these are good to use for this mod or if there is a specific size I should use. The thread on this does not specify. Any help would be great!!

Thanks for everyones help. You must use a 6 amp/ 50 volt diode. Anything smaller won't allow enough juice to get through.

    For What it's worth...
I used a 1A/50V diode because, well, it was lying around the house, and it works well.

I also eliminated soldering onto the map light by getting a new pigtail from the dealer. Installed it into the third (empty) slot on the switch. Maybe a bit overkill, but I'm a perfectionist and the factory look is so much better than the redneck way!
