What @JaTe said. The passenger side relay is triggered by the drivers side factory light connection.

Thanks. It just seemed weird to not use it.

Or just swap over the high beam bulbs into the low beam sockets, turn the highs on, and viola..

Happened to me once in the middle of the night on a dark interstate.

That's a good trick to keep in the back pocket. Thanks

Finally got the lowbeams in along with the dogs. The fogs look like they need to be lowered but these new lights make such a big difference from the stock. A big swing and a miss for Toyota.

Is there much of a difference between the 4500K and 5500K? Debating between getting the HID 35w with either the 4500 or 5500K.

Can't say anything about the 4500k but the 5500k is pretty much pure white light, exactly what I was looking for. I hate the yellowish tint of halogens and the blue/purple tint of higher degree HID's

On a more serious note. 99% of OEM Xenon HIDs are 4300K-4500K from the factory. Wattage being the same, 4500K should produce a brighter (probably negligible to the human eye) light in terms of lumens vs 5500K. Some people will take slightly less lumen output (again, probably negligible anyway) to have a more pure white light. 4500K is pretty white, but in certain angles and depending on the projector housings, you can see a tinge of yellow still.

Ordered a set with 35w ballasts and 5500k bulbs. Should be here this week! any 2016 owners have any pics of their engine bays they can share showing where you installed the relays and ballasts?

Been away for quite some time,
Did the bulb bounce ever get fixed?

I had the innovited HID kit on my last tacoma but their quality went downhill so I'm interested in the morimotos again.

Here's my Morimoto HID 35W 4500k install using some aluminum scrap I had laying around. Can't take credit for the location and other ideas though. Thanks to all who contributed!

@Teeko I have had my 50W 6500k bulbs installed for about 5 months and 13,000 miles. No bounce, no fail to fires, no crazy electrical issues causing sand in my fuel tank or truck going into limp mode. I did replace the TRS supplied fuse within the first week of owning them. Cost me less than 50 cents to fix. I don't blame TRS for the fuse - they are mass produced, cheap, and not something TRS can control. I am very happy with this product and the light output is amazing.

Yes sir. I had an issue with the lights going out after a monsoon and replaced the fuse along with putting a dab of silicon on the fuse holder cap. I doubt I needed to do that, but I did it for reassurance. Again, I don't really blame TRS/Morimoto for that.

:oops:haha well I just order a set of the 35w 5500k. I am a bit worried about how to mount the ignitors, relays etc..... will I have to drill into the sheet metal at all?
