    yea i'm looking to get a set of TC stock length LCAs and was looking at a set of coilovers for the setup, but it's hard to justify that much $$ in coilovers when my OME is doing great..

    Not any time soon, but getting the most out the rear suspension is a step in the right direction towards that eventual goal.

    I went through all kinds of threads looking at how folks clearance their junk. I never went with an actual tub just a BFH and some cutting tools and have worked on 2 1st gens doing the same thing with good results. You wouldn't want to burn your truck down cutting and welding:eek:

    Agreed, I picked a set of ext. Icons at one point in time and ended up sticking with the OME set-up then. My current set up seems to be doing just fine I like that things are pretty simple but every time I look there are new things I want.

    Pretty much, cut the pinch weld and zippered it back, beat it flat and used some spray on bed liner to seal it and called it good.

    for some reason I cant imagine how 36s fit by just hammering it (given the 1"bl)

    why does everyone bother tubbing if you can hammer it into clearance:confused:

    i know Silas rode around with just hammered fire wall for a while on his AT 35s. But couldn't offroad with them.

    You start hammering when that no longer works you begin tubbing, the 2 first gens I talked about both had 6" lifts one on 33's and the other on my old 315/75r16 MTR's.

    I've considered tubbing the truck but haven't needed to with the lift, BL, trimmed fenders some cutting/hammering and bump stops etc..... The other thing is skinnier tires less area affected inside the wheel well on a stock rim, I still rub but overall it works pretty damn good.

    They're 16inch x 7.5inch x 10mm offset. 6 on 5.5 in (139.7mm) Bolt Circle. 106 mm Center Bore (C.B.). not sure what the BS is on the stock wheel it may be same but only 7" wide? My tires measure 35.8x9.8 across the tread to call them 12.50 is way off.

    Is the tread the widest part though? My KM2's are listed as 10" wide with a tread width of 7". When you throw a tape measure on them, the tread measures about 7" and the widest part of the tire is pretty close to 10".

    This isn't the best pic, but you can see how rounded the sidewall is and how skinny the tread is.

    As for the backspacing. Looks like the FJ's have a 4.3" BS and the OEM Tacoma wheels have a 5.5" IIRC. So you're FJ's stick about about 1.7" further than the OEM's.
