Ok here are the details of the truck.

    Early 2005 Tacoma 75k
Mint shape, a couple of tiny scratchs. Not Abused at all.

Bought the truck 2 years ago.

Last october I took it into the dealer for a squeek coming from the transmission, it was also having some issues shifting in and out of third gear (would grind a tiny bit when cold). The dealer said the issue was the throw out berring was cracked.

They pulled the trans and found a cracked berring (it was very bad, split all the way through).

They polished the shaft, replaced the bearing, new clutch, resurfaced flywheel, new pressure plate, and put it all back together. Cost $1400

Drove better and the sound was gone for 10k miles... Now it is back.

I took it into the dealer today, It now needs the same exact work but it also needs a new bell housing. The bell housing needs to be replaced because the throwout berring is steel and the shaft is alunium and the wear has caused a wobble in the berring causing the noise. The dealer also is going to do a clutch pedal TSB (for the 05 and 06's).

The bell housing being put on the truck is a '09 style bell housing (supposed to be made by a different company and is a much stronger bell housing) or so I was told.

The quote for all the parts and labor was 3900. The dealer is going to help and I will have to shell out 1350.

Is this going to actually fix the issue or am I screwed and should I get rid of this thing now?
