Neighbors hate me Now!

Thanks to you guys on this forum, the neighbors now hate me.

I decided to try the seafoam on my truck with a little over 30,000 miles. It smoked out half a block. Didn't win any points with the neighbors in fact it down right pissed off one of them. Not sure if it did any good to the truck but it sure did make a lot of smoke.

All the smoke was crap trapped in your engine- So it's not in the engine any more.

But yeah....I can believe that the neighbors weren't happy.

 

We did it to one of my friends s10 in our ag. shop at school. I was outside at the time but soon rushed in when the unexpected wave of smoke came rolling out of the bay door. I thought the whole building was on fire. Sure cleaned it out though.

 

What's this "seafoam"? What is it for or do?

It's an engine intake/fuel/oil system cleaner. It can be added to the crank case or gas tank to clean those systems.

The OP used it by introducing it to the intake system (probably thru a brake booster line or something) which cleans carbon and deposits out of the intake and valves. Following the directions on the can tends to produce a large cloud of smoke when the car is first turned on after the seafoam sets in the system.

Hey there ---i notice u took the emblem out from the side of ur truck ---i am looking to do that too and am told to use heat and fishing strings --how did u take ur off?

I've seafoamed my 1st gen 02 and holy crap felt like brand new. i did this at 185k miles. smoked for a good 15 minutes. i went to autozone and pulled off the vacumm plug on the intake manifold.


the top right corner of the intake manifold is where the plug would be. take the plug off and ask an autozone or car store for a small vacuum hose you can buy off them.

usually have somebody else in the car trying to start it while it sucks in the sea foam (1/3 of the bottle) then put the plug on and watch the smoke show.

he also recommended that i change my spark plugs and oil after because they would be soiled from the gunk
