Do the "everything" mod. It's pretty self explanatory. Happens to most of us on this site...

First I would get rid of what looks to be a body lift, I may be wrong though that's what it looks like. Second I would get rid of those BFG A/Ts. Lots of complaints about those as far as offroad and snow. They're a great tire to get high mileage. Also if you're going to do serious off-roading, get an ARB air locker up front

Yea it's a body lift and the tires are BFG M/T , they are relatively new so I'm going to ride those until bare. I would love to get some lockers. What do you think of pneumatic lockers?

Body lift is ok for bigger tire size, but can cause problems offroad. Most guys here will say get some coil overs with some new rear leafs. That's at least what I'm gonna do once taxes come in! And that's what I'm talking about. I didn't see that you're a 4 cyl. I thought you had the elocker. ARB air lockers are going to be your best option. Kind of pricey though, I wish I could afford one since my truck doesn't have the elocker. I'm going to be installing a detroit truetrac. It's the best limited slip diff you can really buy.

Oh and I guess I missed the m/t lol. Those are decent tires, will probably wear pretty fast. When looking for new tires, check out goodyear duratracs, wrangler authority's, or cooper at3's. Those were what was recommended to me when I was looking for tires. The authority's are what I went with. They are the cheapest, a walmart exclusive tire. I only have about 3k miles on them, but love them!

If you really want to use the truck to wheel you don't need a whole lot. I've been wheeling my truck stock with no locker and had no issues. No locker in the rear just teaches you how to pick different lines to get by. When I got my locker in the rear fixed it made everything feel easy especially when you got a tire airborne. Next step would be sliders and skids. Read all the build threads on here and you will get ideas and can decide what direction you want to take the truck in.

Homebrew bumpers and sliders, 5100s & Eibachs up front and mutt leaf pack out back, 285s & Wheelers type B, sway bar deleted. Wife's ride: 01 4Runner 4wd sport. Stock with exception of TRD taco coils, and shift kit.
The TRD package should come with a e locker in the back.

Why do the elockers only come in the 6 cyl not the 4? Thanks for all the tips by the way.. very helpful. Now i just need to get the money to do all these things. The Navy pays but doesn't pay that well!

Cause Toyota is stupid! There's no logical reason I could think of. It's like no prerunners coming with a manual transmission. I miss my 5-speed!

Oh and OP, if your looking for lights, look into an HID retrofit. I just have HIDs in stock headlights, and they're bright, but could be way brighter without blinding people if I had retrofits. I also have 4 led spotlights from Amazon on the front of my truck. They're cheap, and very bright. I have them hooked to my high beams

And yea when I was in Afghan our gun truck had a badass LED bar in the back that had a strobe feature for people following to close on our night raid convoys. I wish I would have got my hands on a set of those, but probably highly illegal in the US
