Hey rob, you went with the duplicolor bed armor stuff right? Going to get some paint today at Walmart and autozone if need be.

    Thanks in advance!

Not bed Armor. That stuff doesn't come clean. Just get the regular Bed Liner. It's the one in the BLUE can.

Maybe they had a rough journey that weakened the bulbs?

Damn, I would hope not seeing as they're advertised as 'off road' lights. Something doesn't sound right. I'm going on almost 5 years on the original bulbs with my PIAAs and they've been bouncing around on the front of the truck the entire time. I believe my 520's use the same bulb as the 510's John just bought. I'd recheck all the wiring and pull the lamps apart to make sure they aren't shorting out in the housing.

When my bulbs burn out, I'm going to try to use that as my excuse to replace them with a set of Lightforce lamps :D

Ya when I get some free time . I'm just going to rip everything out and figure out what shorted out. They went out in that little snow storm the other day so I'm thinking something got wet .

On a side note have you heard of people retrofitting hid into the 510's ?

Yep, gotta be the metal's fault

No offense man, but if you keep putting more and more coats of paint over a first coat that didn't adhere properly, it's not going to help. If the base coat is shit, everything you put on top of it is just a band aid. It's like putting saran wrap on a surface and painting it, lift the saran wrap and all the paint comes with it. It's the same deal with paint. It's only as good as the layers below.

I'm going to get 3 primer, 3 paint, 3 bed liner, a can of roll on bedliner and some colored paint to make the BAMF letters stand out. Not sure exactly what I'm going to do with that yet...

i did two coats of auto primer, and two coats of hammered finish paint at first. the shit from the road turned the light grey paint i used like brown on the bottom, so i painted it with this "flex-seal" shit. it was thick, and went on well.... on top of that, i painted it with the first coat of bedliner. two weeks later, there are nicks and places where its peeling off...so today i sanded the places where it was peeling, and hit again with bedliner.. there is no reason why it shouldnt be sticking. they look like brand new right now.. so i guess we'll see. but if it cant hold up to driving down the road, it wont hold up to rocks.
