I bought 4 - 2001-2004 stock Tundra / Tacoma wheels to put winter studded tires on my 2007 Tacoma. WOW did I open a bees nest? Can't mix tire sizes at all because of 4x4 differential and I don't know what lug nuts to get?? Is there a quick answer available.

Not a clue if they clear calipers? I'm trying to get the basics before taking it to tire shop?

Confused by the questions. Are you asking what lug nuts to get?

Lets start from the top here.

    You have a 2007 Tacoma, it's 4x4 so it's the 6 lug model correct?

You bought a set of 1st gen Tundra wheels which are the same 6 lug pattern so that's good.

What size wheels are they? Do you have a picture of them?

If they're OEM Toyota Tundra wheels you'll need M12x1.5 lug nuts with a flat seating surface.
Like these - (I've never used them myself, just came up first on Amazon) - https://www.amazon.com/KSP-Performa...&keywords=m12x1.5+toyota+lug+nuts+mag+seat+24

To your comment about sizing, yes all 4 tires should be the exact same size.

How bad is it if the spare is a different size and you end up having to use the spare in an emergency situation

Wheels are 16" I currently have 17" on and, wanting a winter set. Correct lug nuts and 2 more exact tires is what I need unless the calipers response is a real problem??

Also depends on the situation and how far off the sizing is.

if you're a 4x4 but the mis matched wheel/tire up front and switch back to 2wd if possible. With the truck in 2wd and the mis matched wheel and tire up front no harm will come.

Some will say you can use it anywhere so long as your diff is open because they can rotate at different speeds without damage for a turn as is, so no problem having a mis matched spare. I would be ok with this in a pinch, but avoid it whenever possible.

1st gen Tundra wheels will fit (confirmed here - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1st-gen-spare-wheel-on-2nd-gen.522486/ )

The lug nuts are the same from the stock tacoma wheels on your truck now as they are to the tundra wheels, no need for new lugs if you're currently using the stock lug nuts.

Make sure your 4 wheels are all using the same size tires and you're good to go.

Another question: Does anyone know if the 2001-2004 stock wheels I'm putting on my 2007 taco have air pressure sensors and or receivers for them and,,,,,,will tire stores still install tires with out them?
