Super excited about my new Tacoma.
What is a good site (After Market or OEM) for parts?! i want to get some runner boards and possibly a front battering ram grill thing to make it look more BEEFY. any suggestions?

dont want to do too many suspension mods, i think the stock lift is perfect for me. I like the idea of adding a camper to take on or off when we go on road trips. Pros / Cons on campers?

also want to add black housing headlights with yellow fog lights - all HID's, but not super bright.

another mod is swapping out my Prerunner hood for a TRD SPORT hood with scoop. I LOVE that hood scoop look, is that an easy swap to do? how hard are those hoods to find? where do i look for one besides craigslist?

as far as maintenance, i plan on keeping up the oil change every 3,000 miles. plan on using synthetic oil, the truck has 105kmiles on it. any advice on type of oil to use?

other maintenance questions, how often should i have it serviced for general stuff like air filters/ fluids etc. is that stuff easy to do yourself? should i take it to toyota dealership for maintenance once a year? or is my local mechanic good enough? this is what I'm really concerned about because i want to keep this engine nice and healthy as i plan to keep this truck for a long time, and i dont want untrained mechanics messing with it...so any advice on this would be a HUGE help.

Thinking about adding some engine mods like a COLD AIR INTAKE to give it a more deeper sound...although i think ill leave the exhaust alone.

As far as interiors go, i have cloth seats and i was thinking of just covering those up with some cool seat covers, any experience with this? Im curious to see how much it would be to get some TRD SPORT seats in there, i hear they are more BUCKET like and more comfy..but leaning towards the more inexpensive seat cover option.

Welcome! Great 1st post. I can tell you are super pumped about your new truck! There are sticky's on top of the 2gen forum that covers practically every maintenance task. If it has happened to a 2gen or needs fixing I'm positive someone here has documented it and/or done it better.
There are so many talented 2gen members here.
Changing the oil for instance is a super easy on that engine config.
It already looks like some swapped out to a color match grill. I have wet okoles seat cover. Keep an eye out for a group bug to save some coin. Have fun congrats!

You can upgrade to the newer Toyota Navigation radio which also has the USB and AUX.
As others have posted, do a search and there is so much information on all kinds of how to's.

Stickies are push pinned at the very top of each sub forum. You do not see them always under trending or new discussions. You must go specifically into each subforum like 2nd gen 1st gen etc

 

Starting with 2012. Price will depend on what you have JBL or non-JBL. Others will suggest to go aftermarket.
