You have to consider what weight you also have as that will factor into what size lift you get... on headstrongs site it states 0 load gets about 2.75”

tagging onto this instead of creating a new post, but Im looking at replacing my current leaf springs on my 13 DCSB. I replaced the shocks last year with Bilstein 5160's on the rear, and 6112's with new coils up front, installed on the lowest setting. at the same time I added a LEER camper shell, so now I'm stuck with the tacoma squat. was hoping someone has info/photos on how much lift I can expect with the new EL095R leafs, and the weight of the cap. Im not looking for a ton of lift since 75% of my driving is on road, so can I get fix the squat without having to worry about drive line problems, longer break lines, having to adjust my front shocks/coils?

    thanks

I am disappointed with OME. They started to chew away at my shackles. I would look into another company. I have heard good things about the dobinson leaf packs. I think the price point is similar.

I just got new dakars. They have the yellow pads between each spring on the ends and a metal plate between each leaf in the middle. I also got the speedway liners. I was thinking of removing the metal plates and then installing the liners in between the yellow pads in between each leaf. This way the total height of the spring won't be affected. Or should I leave (haha punny) the metal plates in?

Anyone see a problem with this? Are the metal plates just spacers?

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
For any of you guys that haven't seen the Archive Hammer Hangers thread, there has been a fair amount of discussion about this issue over there.

Tacoma Hammer Hangers - SOA + SUA - Archive Garage

Tacoma Hammer Hangers - SOA + SUA - Archive Garage

Tacoma Hammer Hangers - SOA + SUA - Archive Garage

Tacoma Hammer Hangers - SOA + SUA - Archive Garage

Tacoma Hammer Hangers - SOA + SUA - Archive Garage

    TLDR-

Looks like ARB just re-purposed the springs they built for the Hilux with traditional hung shackles and sold them for the Tacoma. The second (and third on HD sets) spring down are long enough that they actually stick inside the shackle when at rest or compressed. When flexed on a given side the spring ends will move out of the shackle and when the suspension comes back up if the spring isn't centered on the shackle it can hit the edge and cause damage to the shackle.

Looks like a few people have trimmed and cleaned up the ends of the offending springs to prevent this from happening. I will probably take a look at doing that myself the next time I get around to pulling the springs off in my never ending attempt to stop the squeaking. Probably going to end up being when I install the hammer hangers one of these days.

My squeaks from the rear suspension are next to nothing compared to what they used to be before going to a heavier duty shackle hangers and shackle. I cut/trimmed the offending leaf back. I did it with the leafs still on the truck with a cutting wheel and angle grinder. Pretty quick and easy. Good luck.

Hi everyone, looking at getting the following, any thoughts from others that may have this setup? Trying to achieve after setting in, 2" lift at the least.

    -Dakar EL096
    -Bilsteins? if so which model?
    -Icons? if so which model?
    -Brake line extension if needed
-Already have 265/75-16 BFG KO2 on it.

I have a snugtop rebel and decked drawer system, constant 400lb load. At the moment it sits 21" on all 3 corners except the drivers side front.

Not my picture. Borrowed it from BAMF HD shackle hangers thread posted by @smw62891. I did the same thing and it turned out great.

Just looked at mine last night and sure as shit they are rubbing. Both sides are rubbing in the driver's side of the shackle hanger and have already worn a groove in it. Guess I will have to chop them down.

Yup mine are rubbing bad too. I always wondered my springs made so much noise now that explains it..

Really disappointed in the designs of the OME springs that they do not work with stock shackles...

Looking to lift mine. Don’t carry weight around daily but we do tow a small boat. Should I get the HD so it doesn’t sag when towing?

Look at the two posts above. Might wanna look elsewhere. Check out Dobinson leafs. I have yet to hear of issues with those

please let ARB know that they have design issues. I did, it didn’t make a difference but hopefully eventually they will get the point

Keep us updated. They wanted me to remove my leafs and take some measurements to see if they are worn out after a years use. They have been holding their lift so I don’t think they are worn. Supposedly Dakars have a little built in negative arc according to the engineers at ARB. I felt like they totally ignored the fact that the leafs are chewing away at the shackles. Out of curiosity what rear shocks are you using?
