new taco here!!

hello everyone i just joined this forum and i love it!! lots of good ideas and
helpfull tips. my name is daniel and i live in san antonio tx here is a pic of my
2006 taco

hope you like it. quick question is the bed plastic or is it just a bed liner?
as far as i can tell it is a composite material, and how much weight will it
hold?

welcome to tw, daniel!! the bad is actually a composite material.....no rust to worry about, and its pretty strong also!

Welcome!!! As far as the bed goes I drilled into it to mount an antenna and it looks like fiberglass to me, not sure? Nice ride, ENJOY!!

 

I have put up to 600lbs of concrete in my bed with no problem.

The biggest issue I have with the composite bed - it is slippery. I am looking into a rubber mat to keep things from sliding around.

 

Welcome to TW, your truck looks very nice. I agree with 007, a rubber mat is a good idea, unless you enjoy having to tie down everthing you put in there.

i have an old rubber mat left over from my ford truck that i use in the
back, it's a lifesaver. just did the lock mod on my bed boxes and i
couldn't be any happier. love this site!!

Welcome to the site man, are those 01-04 wheels on your Taco?

 

I just noticed this, but does your truck have 1st Gen Tundra wheels on it??? I haven't seen those before on a 2nd Gen Tacoma.

 

They look to be from the 01 to 04 Tacos.

 

Yeah, that is what I meant. I am having trouble with cognitive thought today...

 

i really don't know that's the way it came when i bought it. never looked real hard at it.
