hey everyone, i have been thinking about getting new wheels but the thought came to my mind about just black powder coating the 17" sport wheels i have now, anyone do this and know how much it would cost? Wondering if it would be cheaper to buy new wheels or powdercoat the wheels i have now. Thanks in advance!

if you wanna spend the money...go ahead, but if i were you, i'd just rattle can them. alot easier to touch up then powdercoat is,and i guarantee you they will get scratched up when wheeling.

I think I saw an older thread where a guy was selling his powdercoated rims. He said he paid $200 to have that done.

Edit: Here's the thread: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/buy-sell-trade/14681-fs-08-trd-offroad-wheels.html. They're 16s so you probably wouldn't want them but you can get an idea of what it looks like.

Definitely powder coat them, but your taco is gonna be stuck on some blocks for a couple days while it gets done. With powder coating you cant go wrong with black or matching them to the color of your truck. Its still cheaper to powder coat them then it is to buy new rims.
