I’ll see if I notice an improvement with logging turned off.

My refresh has been pretty slow recently, like close to 2secs…

I’ve done a little research on this topic and I think the issue is baud rate, of Toyota not the app. At one point I reinstalled everything and the refresh rates for a 5 pid screen were actually pretty good. But then I had to scan a network to include some additional PIDs and it definitely got slower.

    What does this mean?

One thing I just thought of is that my iPad mini gets pretty hot whilst using Fusion. I’ve adjusted the mount so I can now cool it from the ac vent. Maybe that’ll help me.

One pid I just came across is fuel remaining, it’ll be interesting to see how many gallons it shows when the low fuel light comes on.

It’s currently showing 19.2g and I’ve towed about 30 miles since I filled it so it’s about right.

If you look in the settings, there are multiple ‘networks’. Sometimes the pids you want are on a network you haven’t scanned yet. You tell the app to scan that network and it adds all those pids to the available list you can track.

Why do you need the fuel information on Fusion? It is available via Right steering wheel button and it is pretty accurate.Alot of PIDs and the logging will bog down the Fusion dashboard. Less PIDS will improve the rate. Also use PIDs on one ECU.

I won’t keep the fuel on there but it’d be interesting to see when the car range shows zero miles and the car fuel gauge is all the way to the left whether the Fusion pid shows 3 gallons left.

I should add I don’t typically try to run low on fuel but I’ve just clicked over 5k towing miles this year and there’s been a few times an extra gallon would have been nice.

Because of speed issues I’ve whittled my towing dashboard down to torque converter temp, current gear and torque converter lock up status.

Missed this iPhone, sorry guys. in iOS it’s in the edit display option. I hope this helps with Android.

Is there a reference anywhere, that goes into detail about the parameters for each of the Toyota PID's; that you can purchase in OBD Fusion?

I see a lot of useful PID's in that Toyota add on package, but nowhere can I find what the allowable metrics should be when one observes them in the app.

    https://www.obdsoftware.net/software/toyotaenhancedparameters

I have found this so far on the Internet. Wondering if there is more info out there:

Just wanted to say I hate you guys. I've been using the torque pro app and just got this one because I was having connection issues with the torque app. This one is so much better and there is so much more you can do. I should of just gotten this one in the first place. Now I just need to read thru the 20 pages and figure out how to put 2 gauges in one. Thank you to everyone that has contributed to this thread.

2 gauges in one is actually just one overlaid on another. Often, the dial directions are opposite of each other.

Another nifty trick is to configure one with only two ranges for a binary pid. For example, torque converter lockup. You can have a big dot (or ring) be green or red based on that status.

Does anybody know if there is a way to set up a gauge that monitors transfer case temps?

Thanks for the tips that seems really easy to just overlay them. I know I'm going to be spending a bunch of time customizing it.

So after connecting a new iOS 14 Pro and restarting the OBD Fusion app it doesn’t connect automatically and go to the Dashboard page. Instead it goes to this page in the photo, and I have to scroll down and hit connect.

Also clicking on Network A doesn’t help.

I have automatic setup in the preferences:
Communications and general. Not sure what the fix is.

Put a quick temporary dashboard together.

Does anyone else experience issues with the data freezing up after about 1 hour? The gauges freeze up and I have to manually disconnect and then connect to get the gauges to read again. Not that big of a problem, but if there is an easy fix I don't know about?

Kind of, yeah. My OBD bluetooth adapter seems to just get less reliable as time goes on, and I'm pretty sure that's the issue - at least in my case.
I seem to have to connect it manually much more often than I used to, sometimes even a couple attempts to connect, refresh rate seems to get slower, and the occasional freeze, but that's more rare for me.
All this being said, I use a really old phone for permanent OBD guage duties, and haven't really tried on my current phone more than a couple times, randomly.

My adapter is even an OBDLink LX, but like 3.5 years old - out of warranty (3 year) of course....
I would have guessed that it was older, and the warranty shorter, or I would have tried that route with it.

I noticed when I totally Deleted the OBD Fusion app and then went to purchase it again to reopen it but you’re not charged because it was already purchased in the past, it did an Update. Not sure if an update will help you.

Somewhere I saw that you need to connect with Bluetooth LE. Click on the communications type and change it to Bluetooth LE. It is an iPhone thing.
