OEM LED headlight conversion harness for SR/SR5

Yeah, these are nearing production I am working through some backlogged stuff, then will make a few pairs. I have to get a few things ordered too (from VLEDs, so it won't take long to get)

I’ll place the order tomorrow for the headlights. I’m assuming the basics with these OEM LED get the sequential blinker, LED DRL, and the TRD PRO side logos will be lite as well?

I do have a 2020 and I can disable the DRL from the stalk or from the infotainment screen.

 

No need to disable anything These will be just plug-and-play. Everything will be lit as it would be on OEM, so there shouldn't be any difference. Initially I suspected there would be a brief white DRL flash right before the turn signal came on (just one flash, not before every turn flash) but that didn't happen. So the only difference may be after you turn off the turn signal, it may take a second long to return to the white DRL, but that should be it. I am looking at $150 for the price point on these I think (that may come down). They take some additional hardware that the TRD conversions do not (the HDRL controller and a resistor, so $55 in extra parts there, plus another $15 in the wires to hook those parts up). And they are more complex to build than the TRD version. They will be serviceable though, so if the HDRL controller ever did quit, you can replace just it, no need to replace the entire harness, so I think its worth the extra $15 for that option.

 

I ordered Pro taillights from them and was a bit skeptical. They ended up being alright and I would order from them again. Paid a little more for shipping than what I was quoted when ordering but the lower prices made up for it.

Dammit like 50% of the reason I bought a new Sport instead of keeping my truck was the Morimoto XB with a fuse jumper stink, and you need OEM LED for them to function properly!

Once you get this figured out it may be worthwhile to see if the harness allows the XB to function like OEM headlights in an SR/SR5.

 

I will be officially making them. I’ll do batches (not sure the size of the batch yet). I’ll do them until something shiny comes along, then @daveeasa will take over. I am placing an order for the first batch, which should be around ten pairs of these. I’ll get a BST thread up this weekend, maybe start a queue.

 

I suspect they would. These will function almost 100% the same in the SR’s as they do the TRD trims. The reason I say almost is there is a slightly longer delay going back from turn signal to DRL, but only about a second. So maybe 99%?

 

That's awesome. If I was keeping the SR past the next couple weeks I'd buy the harness just to confirm for you.

 

Can’t wait for this harness, want to swap these sr5 halogen headlights and get those TRD LED headlights.

 

Can you please share which wire on the LED side is the high beam? I’m searching for a one to tap for aux light relays.

 

Pinouts on the feed to the LED assembly may be found in the DIY thread for TRD models.

 

You could go with an Add-a-fuse on the high beam fuse or pm @kmorgan3 for a t harness on the light stalk. Either one is a no cut to OEM wires.
