@WormSquirts is exactly right. The kit comes with one 4 AWG extension, one 2 AWG extension, one 4 AWG butt connector, one 2 AWG butt connector, one 2 AWG ring terminal (for the factory ground. Usually needs to be shortened) and enough heat shrink to cover all three crimps.

Id be happy to sell you just the kit if you'd like. Shoot me an email at Matt@************** and I'll get you hooked up.

Thanks for the info. Still trying to decide what to do. I just need a few more inches on the starter cable to connect better to the 31M battery I installed.

I like the simplicity of the spice, but I'm also considering replacing that whole cable down to the starter... maybe even doing a "big 3" upgrade while I'm at it. Especially if I need to buy a hydraulic crimper either way.

I crimped them with vice grips. Was quite difficult to squeeze and took a little while doing it in small increments, but it holds strong. Wasnt worth buying the crimper for two crimps to me

What do you have this wired into? I need 12v in the bed and am trying to find the best place to wire this. I need power when the truck is off.

So I don't have room for a second battery in my engine bay in either spot. Is there any downside/danger to putting the second battery in the cab behind my seats? Safety? Gasses? Fire? Can it just sit there without a mount?

If you get an AGM battery, they are sealed, so they won't vent gasses into your cab.

I mounted mine with a battery tray and nylon battery strap in case of a rollover or something. I also wouldn't want it flopping around back there day to day without being secured. As far as I know AGM batteries do vent in the instance of overcharge. I've had one behind the seats for almost 4 years with no ill effects. I wouldnt try it tho with a regular lead acid battery

Mine is setup off a Blue Sea fuse block mounted at the rear of the truck, with 2 or 4 gauge wire from the fuse block to the battery.

As others have said, use an AGM battery, and secure it properly. Also, be sure to fuse the cable appropriately. No downsides that I can think of

Looks very nice...I'm seriously considering a dual battery set up and this makes it look easy.

This might be the best part of the kit. Keeps my beer cold everyday.

Aloha Matt. Any chance your kit could be applied to a dual battery system that would be relocated to the back of the bed?

Thought I post up the install Matt did. It's a single battery setup with power plugs in the bed, just right for my needs. The bed plugs are 4X USB, 1X cigarette style and 1X for the solar panel plug, with an on/off switch and voltmeter of course.

Sweet setup. How much of a pain was it to route the wires up on the bed wall? I was considering a similar setup and didn't want to block the 2x6 slot or the cubbies.

They just get ran along the frame until after the wheel well then up to where it's mounted. you can take the cubby out to help make the install at that end easier
