Sorry it took a bit to respond. I don't own a Tacoma anymore so I only check every so often and I only get emailed if someone messages me.

That sounds correct that if you already have the blinkers then you'll just need to run two wires to each side for the heated mirror portion. I will say though that I ran these from a heated mirror harness that had a built in timer and all so that way I would hit the button and the harness components took over from there for timing. The user I bought that from no longer makes them so I'm not exactly sure where you can go with that unfortunately.

Hahaha, I'm hoping that soon enough I will be in a 4Runner. I know that's not exactly the same but hopefully close enough for inspiration and build threads again!

So do you happen to remember the pin diagram for the Highlander heated mirror switch?

Unfortunately I do not. I actually had a hardness made for it so I never actually had to figure that part out. And also unfortunately the person that made that harness no longer makes them so I can't be of really any help at all. Sorry.

Just one question, how just how did you remove the mirror (glass) from the mirror?!?!? Mine just won’t come off no matter how much force I use I also don’t wanna break it. I tried prying the tabs but they just won’t come out

Oh man, I totally understand your feeling but best advice I can give - don’t be afraid or nervous.

Tilt the glass/mirror up as much as it goes while still on the housing, and pry up from that point. I do it in a quick, firm gesture rather than slowly pulling it off - no pry tools or anything needed just my hands.

Is yours OEM? OEM 4Runner mirror is more easier since it’s different but I got an aftermarket 4runner mirror and it’s holding in by tabs that just won’t unclip

I'm working on doing this right now, but I have to wire up the mirrors, as I have a base model.

I found out that the 08-13 Highlander have the same base as Tacomas. I'll post some pictures later. I've got to buy a shell and the blinkers will bolt up to the Highlander mirror

The mirrors from the 08 Highlander have puddle lights. I ended up buying one aftermarket T4R mirror, but I'm probably not going to use it anymore.

The side blinkers I bought just will need to have the wires run to them, but will otherwise bolt onto the Highlander framework.

I had bought some power mirrors off an 09, hoping to do as you did and use the OEM internals, but the mounting points for the motor arm didn't match up, and I'd have needed to cut out a part of that arm for the puddle lights.

So I'm returning the other T4R mirror I bought and I'm going to use that money towards some nice fitting OEM caps

I just gotta finish my wiring harnesses so I can install them

Makes sense. the 4runner mirrors I got were aftermarket from someone that did not do the conversion and they bolted up to the stock stuff. had puddle and blinker already so that was nice.

You are correct for blinker and puddle you just need to run off the blinker and the dome which are all under the driver side. For the puddle I used the under dash lighting kit and tapped off of that since that was already plug and play and just needed a splitter. Worked great.
