I have a 2015 4.0 tacoma and I am looking to start changing my own oil , but I have some rookie questions. What is the best oil filter to use and where to buy? After looking through the owners manual I can’t seem to find the oil capacity?

Every video I have watched they use 5 qts that’s why I was confused.

Put a little under 5.5 and it seems full. Im having a hard time reading the dipstick though. It seems like the lower half of my dipstick has oil on it. Hard to get an accurate reading.

Toyota filter FTW. I think Chris did a write up on all the oil filters and the oem one is by far the best. 5.5 wts for my 4.0 with the trailering package. Without the oil cooler it’s 5 (correct me if I’m wrong). I am a Pennzoil Platinum fanboy but all big name synthetics are great imho

I used the Toyota oil filter and a little under 5.5 qts of Pennzoil. The only problem I have is reading the dip stick

Yeah, theyre known for having crappy dipsticks. What I did is scored the readable part of the dipstick with fine grit sandpaper, works great now. Just be sure to get all metal shavings off first!
