Extended length shackles will lower a 2nd gen with the stock leaf configuration

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
The only way 2nd gens can gain lift in the rear with longer shackles is if you do a shakle flip kit. A longer shackle with the stock mounts will raise the rear eye of the leaf springs up closer to the frame, and will lower the rear. The shackle flip kip that ATO makes for us will give you 3/4" lift, then you can use longer shackles for additional lift

I just spent the last two days going through all 111 pages of this thread, so much info! I'm pretty set on getting the OME kit with 885s up front, dakar leaf pack in the rear, and LR UCAs. However, I'm a little concerned with all the posts in this thread about a clunking sound that a lot of people are getting. The issue comes up a lot, and not a lot of people report back with a fix. Have most of the folks that experienced this clunking figured out the cause, or are they just living with it?

It's not normal. It may be your bushings or you can try Oz's fix for squeeky Dakars as annotated in this thread:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/156353-squeaky-dakars-any-advice-others-dakars.html

The only semi-common clunk I can think of is when folks don't install the sway bar relocate kit. OME says you don't need it, but a lot of people report needing it. I've only had my kit on for a couple days, but even without my sway bar relocate kit (it came a couple days late, haven't put it on yet) I have no clunking.

As BJB mentioned, sway bar. I noticed that when I had longer studs put in the shop that did it reassembled the strut and the spring is slightly lopsided. It hits the UCA when it extends. Fix is to have that shop fix the strut. A lot of guys report a similar clunk going over speed bumps. The shock isn't maxing out, so I recommend UCAs.

What did you put up front & what did you get?
    886s N186S
What did you put in back & what did you get?
    Dakars N186S
If you got Dakars on a 2nd Gen share your measurements with OZ 2nd Gen OME Dakar hub to fender measurements ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page)
    Been there done that.
Are you running trail armor & how much lift did you loose or what did you do to regain/maintain lift?
I am running BAMF kick out Sliders, ARB bumper and winch, aluminum TRD skid plate
After 2000 miles I'm now 22 1/2 front and 24 1/2 rear. I would like to get another Inch some how out of the front.
It rides better that it ever did stock.
Tire & wheel specs & rub or what you did to eliminate rub.
TRD Bronze simulated Bead Locks with BFG 265/75 16 KM2 No rub & no trim.
Are you still running a sway bar?
No and it rides even better off road and I cant even tell its gone on the road.

What would yall suggest I do to bring the front end up about an inch to compensate for the extra pounds she is putting on?

I have always been under the impression that spacers where bad. That's kinda why I was hoping to find I heavier spring to swap out.

You are thinking of spacers that preload the spring. The top plate ones do not do that, and they are much smaller. Using them to get 3/4" vs 3" makes a big difference.
