So i just got done reading alot of these posts and getting myself nice and cunfused. I think i have finally figured out exactly what i want to buy to run 285/75/16 and start an expo style build.

OME full lift kit with dakars in the back and 886 coils up front to hold the ARB and the future winch. Light racing upper control arms and extend rear brake lines. Pricing all of this out from toytech i am at $1909.97 Does all of this sound correct to have a nice set up with out cutting any corners.

Just trying to make sure i know what i am doing before i drop $2k on a lift.

OME lift, 2013, Diff drop? YA or NA, Shims for Dakar Pack? Ya or Na

    Hi,
So I just joined but have been reading this site for awhile and have navigated through piles of builds, great info, BS, and so so stuff, and I'm sorry if the more seasoned members are sick of this topic but I have unanswered questions. I would like some proof, solid info. This is what I have, 2013 reg cab, 2.7, 4X4 Tacoma. I have on order the OME 3in lift with the Dakar leaf packs, and I also ordered LR UCA's. My questions are (and I have searched this site high and low for answers and get mixed reviews). 1. Should I do the diff drop? This truck will likely never see off road but for a nice farm road to a deer stand. 2. Should I put shims under the leaf packs when I initially do the lift? I will be pissed if I don't and I have shakes and have to take it back apart to put 20 dollar shims in that I could have done in the first place. Which brings the third question. What if I put the shims in have all sorts of shakes/vibes and didn't need them? Obviously Id take them out if I knew they were the problem but WTF, how do I know? I read I guys thread last night who had all sorts of pics and was talking about measuring the drive shaft top and bottom to figure out what you need but I'm looking for some straight answers here. I like working on cars and everything but I hate fixing mistakes! That guy was also talking about having all sorts or troubles getting the leaf packs in, he was using the stock jack on top of the springs and jacking the axle to align the holes, have others had this sort of issue? Well I guess that's a start of my questions, the damn lift wont even be here for another month because the leaf packs are backordered so I'll see what sort of info I get. Again sorry if your done having the OME lift convo, and I delayed asking for that reason but there seem to be many different opinions, especially on the diff drop. One last question and I know there are threads devoted just to this, Im probably going with Toyota TRD wheels, What size tire should I look at with this lift? Keep in mind I downsized from a Silverado for gas mileage and would like this truck to look cool but not kill me. Two other questions, 1. Do I need to extend my rear brake lines as I saw the guy did in the thread I read last night and 2. what's this ubolt flip kit, is that needed what advantages does it bring?

    hope I got it all

EDIT: I should also mention that everything that I have mentioned is based on what I have read. Like you I am planning my lift (which I just ordered :D) so just passing on the info that I have researched, and what I am considering when I install the lift.

Light Racing. They're about $375-$400 depending where you get them from and are good. Lots of folks on here use them.

Definitely not for the diff drop. I didn't need the shims, just the carrier bearing drop and I have no vibes.

The recommendations i've seen from several folks on here is to get the 886s, then wait a while for the coils to settle before putting spacers on.
