How is 23 1/2 , 24 1/2 , perfectly level ?

 

Its the way I measured. Its level to the eye. I had a hard time measuring and taking the picture.
Its probably 1" off but will settle once rear AAL gets some weight

 

quick question..got my ome kit installed two weeks ago and just noticed that i have the same number of leafs in the rear as i did before the aal..i was under the impression that when you add a leaf your adding it not adding it and taking away a stock leaf..am i wrong? or did the shop mess up by taking one out?

 

Pretty sure you can do it either way, depending on how much lift you are looking to get and how you want it to ride. Did you tell them how much lift you were looking to get?

 

well it was a 2 inch leaf and i told them that and they said they knew what they were doing so i was just seeing if anyone knew..but the truck sits level and rides fine so far

 

either way, sounds like they owe you a leaf. If you paid for one and they replaced it, they should have given the extra/old one to you.

 

the shop that installed my stuff kept all the stock stuff,i called them and said wheres all my original stuff, he said,sorry we tossed it didnt know you wanted it. I could have gone back to stock stuff once i get Maxtracs but not now. Jeez.... I guess its my own fault for spelling it out for them.

 

They always say they toss it, but they really sell it off to comps that pay for stocks parts. Any time you get suspension work done; always make sure you have it written down where you get the stock parts back. Especially if its things like spindles, or lower control arms, they are worth the most.

 

It's a pretty common practice for shops to keep the old parts that is if you don't ask for it back. I believe some even have it on the estimate sheet where there's a check box about customer wanting to keep old parts.

 

Old parts that are worn, I don't care. But if I had an add a leaf and I got it back without an extra leaf, I would ask questions.

 

Not sure what kind of shops you guys are dealing with, but if I bring a pile of new parts to my guy, the old ones get set in the bed. I'd be pissed if I wasn't given the option.

Nobody buys the SR5 stuff though. I still have all mine in the garage. I've been holding onto them because I know I won't get much for them. I'd rather throw them back on and try and sell the OME kit if it's not too old when I'm ready for a change in vehicles.

 

Actually there are some of us that run stock SR5 suspension that is getting old and wouldn't mind replacing it with new take off parts. I would of course prefer nicer stuff like OME or even Bilstiens but the stock parts will do just fine if the price is right. I keep checking the Buy / Sell / Trade 2nd Gen Marketplace for exactly that reason. Not much shows up in my area though.

I sold all of my old stuff to guys driving stock 05-06's.

I do too, but sometimes time is tight and I have to hand my trail limo over to my 4x4 shop.

 

Yeah but for how much? If it's not a decent price, it's not worth it to me. I'll hold onto it and put it back on before I get rid of the truck.

 

You're from New Brunswick? I will have some parts available probably in December, and I will be heading back to my hometown at Christmas, about an hour away from Edmonston.

 

Just installed my Old Man Emu lift with Dakar leaf pack and the leafs are squeaking. Is there a fix for this? I'd appreciate any assistance.

 

This is the best solution so far. If you go to the end of the thread, I found the rubber you need for less than $15 on Amazon.
