Front bilstein 5100 with OME 884 w/trim pack, 17" fuel trophy wheels wrapped with 32" toyot open country m/t, bakflip fibermax tonneau cover, Avec 30" led light bar behind lower grille, marathon seat covers in max 5 camo pattern, trimmed front and rear mud flaps, more to come.
Do the ome coils ride better than the stock trd sport coils? I'm guessing it will since the Billy's would be put back to the 0 setting so therefore it would not be compressing the coil at all. Haha sorry if I'm just throwing a bunch of random sh@t y'all's way.

Better is a relative word. OME springs ride stiff and get more stiff as you move up the ranks, read this for rates. I like the feel of them over stock TRD OR.

883's are the same rate as 884/5/7 too

    590 vs 660 for the 886's

Forgive me for not reading all 312 pages in this thread... But I'm looking for opinions on going with 887s compared to 885s and top plate spacers. I have a 2015 4x4 dcab with no plans of adding any weight up front. Do a little trail riding here and there but nothing too rough. I'd like to get as close to 3" as I can while keeping my cv angles from getting too extreme.

What are the pro/cons of going with the 887s vs 885s and top spacers? Same spring rate, just longer springs right?

    Appreciate it

I personally think 885's and spacers will have less chance of the " over speed bump goes clank " OME shock top out issue than straight 887's but if I was you I would pm YotaDan or contact Wheelers

I've been making myself crazy reading about lifts the last few days, but I think I've dialed in my choice of OME, but I have some questions ...

I have a 2004 extended cab with a Leer cap.

After some price shopping, the kit from Bilstein looks like the best deal:

    https://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/95-04-toyota-tacoma/old-man-emu-ome-tacoma-lift-suspension/

I'm planning on 883s (no spacers) and the dakar complete leaf.

This build will have an Armor Tech front bumper with M8000 winch, plus McNeil Racing glass fenders, and an Armor Tech rear bumper with tire carrier.

So my questions: with all this weight, how much lift can I expect? I'd like to get the full 3 inches.

Also, do I need an AAL added to the Dakar, or maybe an All Pro Expedition? In addition to bumper, tire, and cap, there's always about 50-100 lbs of tools and crap in the bed ...

I've also considered an Icon Stage 2 kit, but can't really justify the cost if I can get 3-inches out of the OME. This truck isn't a daily driver, but I put about 25k miles on it a year through various trips. It's on highway 70 percent of the time, dirt or farm roads 20 percent, and mountains/trails 10 percent.

Thanks for hearing me out. I'm suffering from major information overload

anyone know if the newer Nitro sport shocks ride softer than the older N140/N182s on road?

From the research I've conducted, they're actually slightly firmer.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
keep in mind that first and second gens are a lil different as far as the coils needed.

Installed a full OME setup a few weeks back, 885's up front with Dakar pack in back and the old version of the nitro chargers all around. Got the kit from Wheelers which included the driveshaft hanger bearing drop kit. I decided to drive the truck without it first to see how it went and had a significant vibration from about 8-12 mph. Installed the spacer kit and it definitely reduced it but there is still a slight vibration at the same speed. Enough to be noticeable. I feel like as the rear has settled a little the vibration has gotten not as bad but it's hard to tell. Any thoughts? Some research shows that people are pretty happy with a 2.5 or 3 degree shim kit from Toytec. Anyone have any success with these?

Part two of my question, for anyone with OME setup and 285/75 tires, what spidertraxx spacer did you get to avoid rubbing? 1.25 or 1.5?

You didn't have any issues hitting the UCA? Or did you just grind that thing too? Haha

I'm on 315s and I do rub my TC UCAs at lock but I refuse to run spacers. 315s with 2.5" of lift, I'm going to rub somewhere. I figure I'm happier replacing my UCAs every few years and not worrying about cutting, banging, etc. other parts anymore than I already have to make them fit.

Front bilstein 5100 with OME 884 w/trim pack, 17" fuel trophy wheels wrapped with 32" toyot open country m/t, bakflip fibermax tonneau cover, Avec 30" led light bar behind lower grille, marathon seat covers in max 5 camo pattern, trimmed front and rear mud flaps, more to come.
I have a question and I appologize if it has already been answered. My setup currently is billy 5100 up front set at 1.75 for an almost complete level look which that is what I was going for. I am thinking of getting 885 and setting the Billy's back to 0 to see if it would improve the ride some. Will setting it up this way give me the look I already have? I have read read and read some more I and I see 20 different answers as to the 885 giving aprox 1.75 of lift to people saying they got pretty close to 3" on the springs alone.
