I had 884s on my DCSB with about 135# hanging of the front end and full skids and I still had around 2" of lift. I doubt you'll sag too much but I'm not sure what your concern is with a little sag while its on there.

    Are your coils assembled?

Thanks. I'm not necessarily concerned with it while it's on there but more interested in people's thoughts. The plow is light so I would think it wouldn't sag anymore than the stock shocks. Thanks for the quick response.

884X. Dakars. Front shocks. Rear shocks. Rear extended brake lines.

Have axle shims (3 degrees). Have carrier bearing drop. Have all hardware and bushings. @OZ-T

They're not assembled. Have access to multiple spring compressors but will be hopefully using the floor jack method unless it isn't safe with the 884X coils. @la0d0g

Use this method. You'll be good to go. I just did it on my 886's

I always post this video for coil assembly. By far the safest way I've experienced. Spring compressors freak me the f out. The rest of the install is straight forward. Take your time and don't consume too much beer until you're done. Do you have the link to Moose's install thread? That's a good one too.

Used the Jack method twice already which is why I prefer it if I can. I haven't seen Moose's install thread. Link?

Took the Taco out for some exercise today. No flexing. But took a dirt road up a mountain side to get to a mountain top lake today. Some portions were wash boarded, others had lots of rocks sticking out of the ground, and some sections were smooth as gravel. Top speed was probably 25mph. Some switch backs in a couple spots. Kept wondering when one of my Michelin LTX M/S 2's was going to blow out (probably just being a ridiculous Nervous Nelly). LOL Very bumpy ride. Wish I had made that trek sometime before my OME Suspension install just to compare the factory ride to the OME ride up that road.

    It was pretty dang bumpy.

    TacoTrail.jpg

Once I got to the top I discovered dozens of cars. Subarus, trucks, a U-Haul Ford Van (seriously?), a really old Toyota Tercel. Then I felt pretty stupid realizing all these bland vehicles made the journey up there.

It really wasn't a 4x4 trail by any means but it was fairly steep. I had to use 2nd Gear on the way down to control speed without killing my brakes.

Anyhow - first drive off of pavement with the new OME setup.

Any weight on the Dakars? I don't see a shell, but anything else adding weight in the rear that I can't see?

Absolutely nothing. :) I realize with weight back there it would have been a different ride. Just me and my three kids in the cab. Relentless Fab tailgate mod but that's pretty minor weight (aluminum).

Gonna leave as is and see if they soften a touch, or maybe remove a leaf?

95% of my miles will be highway to and from work. Really no need to attempt to soften it up at this point. Some day I might splurge and put a shell on the back which will help. If I ever get serious about going off-road I'll have to blow a wad of cash for skids front to back as well. I know there's a group buy going right now for skids for as much as 20% off. Tempting. lol But not something I 'have to have' right now either.

    Kyitty, I would leave
It will "soften" up. Give it awhile it will start to feel better and better. At first I was WTF everyone said the ride was better than stock. Them after a couple of months of break-in it really "softens" up.

I've no plans to modify it. :) I'm sure it'll settle in over time. Probably doesn't help my tire pressure is above what the door jamb says as well (still well below the max on the sidewall). Haha More than anything I just felt dumb when I got to the top and found so many mundane vehicles up there while I was worried about a tire blow-out on all the rocks in the road. Granted I'm not running AT's.
