    I had the 888’s with a stock front and they did great. Dakar medium leaf pack in the rear. But when my Relentless bumper went on, it took a big nose dive. I swapped out to 886’s and couldn’t be happier. So if you’re going to go hybrid & winch, 886 might be the best option.

    I had the same set he had. He will be upgrading to 886 soon. We ordered X2 kits on one order and after several thousand miles and weight I needed 886 with the Arb summit bumper, the 888 netted me 1.25" of lift with this massive thing hanging off the front. 886 with PN14 spacers it's at 2.25 front and rear even.

    I’m not adding any extra weight, so I’m staying away from the 886’s. I feel like the 887’s will give me what I want in conjunction with my 16” SCS Ray10’s and 265-75-16 DuraTracs.

    I keep thinking about the 888’s, but those might be a bit more height than I need since I’m only going to be running 265-75’s and I’d like to avoid new UCA’s for now.

    The real dilemma I have is what to use for lifting the rear. I don’t haul or tow anything very heavy & I’d like to avoid a harsh bouncy ride. Marie@Headstrong suggested an 1-1.5” block to keep it riding close to stock. She knows her stuff and indicated that there isn’t anything wrong with small blocks. I trust her input.

    However, I know many here are opposed to blocks of any thickness, so that has me also considering doing a 3 leaf AAL. I think a full leaf pack is unnecessary for my situation.

    The OME kit with 888s won't need UCAs unless (possibly) when running a much wider tire like 286/65R16. I didn't need UCAs and was able to get a great alignment with both 10.5" wide 275/65R16s and the taller 10" wide 255/85R16s (what's currently on my truck). I do have a lightweight bumper, winch, a larger battery, and some lights up front.

    Next, I think the Dakar springs with OME shocks in the rear provide a great ride on my 2020 DCSB wether the bed is empty or full of a few hundred lbs of "weekend gear". I've never been a fan of blocks.

    Just had the final combination (OME suspension, 33" Cooper S/T Maxx tires, TRP Pro wheels, Nitro 4.88 gears) out this weekend. We drove about 150 miles on the highway to an event, did 100 miles on a combination of of surfaces from severely pot-holed roads to logging trails, then drove 150 miles home. My princess-and-the-pea lady was very please with the ride both on and off road stating it was way more comfortable than the last time we ran logging roads up north with the TRDOR stock suspension.

    Had the ome 888 kit, got a cbi bumper and lost over an inch. Switched to bilstein 6112 with 700lb coil and bilstein 5160 rears, kept the Dakar med leafs and it’s great now.

    Thanks, for the reply. I was under the impression 888’s required aftermarket UCA’s. That’s good to know. However, I think I’m still leaning towards the 887’s. I worry the 888’s might be a tad much with only 265-75’s. I definitely need to give some more thought as to what I’m going to run in the back.

    You'll be fine running a 1.5" block in the back. I have for years on this truck, and did on my last truck as well. Lots of offroading and long trips, zero issues. Never tow anything, and very rarely haul "heavy" loads. I will say that now that I have over 100k on the truck and the original leaf springs are getting pretty tired, I will probably switch everything out for some nice aftermarket springs at this point. But if your truck is newer, throwing a small block on with your stock leafs sounds like it will be sufficient for your situation.

    They’re all the same, eibach, headstrong, icon, king. As long as they’re made for 2.5” diameter shocks

    Also have to compare coil lengths and preload, not just the spring rate.

    Today i saw a member say that dobinsons lower quality than OME.

    Anyone have any thoughts/ experience on this?

    How does dobinsons stack up against OME. I was under the impression is was a smaller company with lower name recognition but slightly higher quality than OME

    I’ve never heard anything negative about Dobinson. However, I’ve read a lot of recent complaints about OME coils excessively settling/sagging. Like a lot of things on a forum, you’ve gotta take it all with a grain of salt, do your own research, and make a decision that you feel comfortable with.

    I agree. I wouldn't say one is over the other
    Maybe it was just his opinion without actual use and comparison of his own.

    Dobinsons is definitely a lesser-known company since we've only been selling in the USA since 2016, but Dobinsons (1953) as a company is 23 years older than ARB (1976) and OME (1990's-sometime)

    Thanks @Crikeymike yeah they seem like theyre pretty much on par, I'm leaning towards Dobinsons because you can grease the bushings. Are both OME shocks and Dobinsons shocks twin tubes?

    Yes, the standard shocks are twin tubes.

    Dobinsons also offers IMS and MRA Monotube options now, new for 2020.

    I too have been struggling with which combination to go with. My situation is a bit unique as I've got a double cab long dog, sliders, and full aluminum skids. I have very little intention of getting a bumper. So the truck comes about 150# overweight from the factory, I've added about 225# of armor. I don't know if I should go with 888 coils or the 886 coils. I'm definitely going with the softer ride. When camping, I tow a small travel trailer, no plumbing, no water, about 1600#.IMG_20180831_142108.jpg
