Your truck looks great! I think this is how Tacomas should come from the factory.

I'm glad that I was able to help you out...definitely not a whole lot about 884s, especially with a DCSB. I searched forever too. Post your alignment specs after you install the UCAs...I'm considering doing the same thing, but with LR UCAs. I'm still running stock tires, so I'll replace the UCAs right before new tires and get the alignment at the same time to save some $.

Nice mountains in the background....Colorado Springs is an awesome place! Are you at the Academy?

    thanks.
i'll keep updating this thread as i go along. people considering the 884 would be okay with it on the double cab. the dakars are the way to go. i wouldn't even go to an aal solution - straight to the leaf pack. alcans are probably a good choice as well. you'll wait longer, but will have exactly what you want.

yeah, c-springs is the place to be. the academy is a great place to work as well. trails all over the place for hiking and mtn biking.

will do! thanks for you help as well, OZ-T. i've been cyberstalking all your posts about your setup. i felt much better about this decision because of you, John3, and the few others with this build. i appreciate all the info from you all.

i'm going to have jed from armorology make a lightweight bumper in the future. he just finished one for a t100, about 80lbs (you can see it on his website). a winch will add some weight, but he's confident that the 884s won't sag under that little weight. even if it did, the dakars just settled down to 24 1/8 from 24 5/8 - 1/2" down. i did take it on a bumpy ride last friday.

i'd consider the icon tubular UCAs vs the ones from LR.
i don't have exact alignment specs yet. i'll have them tomorrow and will edit this post to reflect actual measurements. what i can guess:
    camber: 0.3
    caster: 3
    toe: 0

due to the new ucas, caster goes way up. it tracks so well on the road i can't believe it's my truck. why don't the trucks come from the factory like this? the new ucas also keep the steering controlled - some may consider the steering 'stiff', but i think that the steering is way better than stock. fabulous.
camber stays at 0.3 because of the lift. the lcas are all the way out and i'm at 0.3. i think as soon as the 884s settle a little, the lcas will come up and camber will come very close to zero.
i am also on Armorology's waitlist for a new light bumper and winch setup, weighing about 150lbs total. i think that will also bring down the front a little and bring camber to zero.

actual alignment, post icon uca, on ome 884 setup in front and dakars in back:
    ---TBD---

here are pictures of the current setup in the front with the new icons:

my taco is driving better than ever after these upgrades.
i wish i had completed everything at once instead of piecemeal.

Just had the same thing done. I've had my 06 since October of 05 and I've finally got around to doing some mods (and joining this forum). I went with the 885s though as I added an ARB bumper and a winch at the same time. I wrote down all my measurements but I'm not at home now so I'll post those up later when I can find that little napkin I wrote them on ;).
    Pic before:

    Some after pics:

And thanks to all those that did this before, the info was invaluable while I was agonizing over which suspension to go with.

sweet! when you put that arb on the 885s, how much did it sag? posting this detail will definitely help others decide which springs to choose. (i know there are quite a few threads out there discussing the merits of each OME coil. another one here wouldn't hurt.)

i'm a noob poster, but have been stalking this forum for years. all the information on this site has been pretty awesome.
...now to get some spinner rims and neon windshield washer lights.

The problem is, I had it all done at the same time, so I don't know for sure that it sagged at all. As of right now I have about 3" of lift both front and back. I'm sure it'll settle some, I plan on taking her up to Big Bear next week and hitting some fire roads and Park Service access roads, that should help bed it in. I'll do another set of measurements then.
And yeah, with all the info on here from the different mods available I'm gonna be broke and busy as hell ;)

I'm thinking of doing the full OME, as you have - looks great with the ARB bumper. Did you have any alignment or vibration issues? Did you do the diff drop? Trim Packers? UCA?

Haven't added anything extra yet. No UCAs, trim pack etc. I haven't had any vibrations or other problems. The alignment was done at the same shop that did my install and almost all in Spec, my Caster was out by about .1-.2, on each side, not a big deal. I'm running BFG At K/Os at 265/70/16 with no rubbing.
That being said, I was just flipping through the forum and saw that there is a group buy going on with Metal Tech 4x4 for the Light Racing UCAs... So I might be dropping some more cash soon ;).

Did you guys used the OME trim packer and front sway bar relocation kit for 884? I'm thinking to order 884 for my 2012 4X4 offroad. I'm also using my stock tire and rims for now. Thanks.

I finally completed my lift after two years or so. I installed Light Racing UCAs and purchased 265 70 R17 Michelin M/S 2 tires. I like the way the new tires fill up the wheel wells a little more. Definitely better than the factory Bridgestones. The best thing is, it drives like a new truck! If you are on the fence about replacing your UCAs...DO IT...you will not be disappointed.

Thought I would add none as well to this thread. This really helped me decide what I wanted. I replaced the stock tires with 235 86 16’s as well.

    Stock:
    Passanger Front 20.5"
    Driver Front 20.5
    Passanger Rear 21”
    Driver Rear 21”

OME 884’s, 90021’s, and Dakars with the long overload removed:
    Passanger Front 22.5"
    Driver Front 22.5
    Passanger Rear 23.5”
    Driver Rear 23.5”

Just to clarify, are you all using 884 with no top plate spacer? Also, this thread has been very helpful. I've known I want to do OME, but have a cap, a rack, a bed platform and gear in the back at all times, and sometimes I tow a drift boat, so I always suspected I would need 884s, not the 885s. I, like many of you, don't mind a slight rake. I think you convinced me to spring for the UCAs. The plan is to do this setup with 25585R16 ST Maxx tires. I'll post pics when I get around to it, but it might be a few months until my tires wear out.

I have 884x with 1/2 spacer on driver side and 1/4 on passenger side, dakar on the back with third leaf off. I love the ride, way better than my old factory off road suspension. Now I have Pelfreybilt steel bumper and IFS, I will probably upgrade to 886 later. Need to save money again

OME 886's, Dakar Leafs, fk29 cb shim, 3deg spacers, 17" Method Vex, 255/80/17 Cooper S/T maxx, Leer shell, frontrunner rack, Thule bars, 40" light bar, Hids, Seat covers, JL's, Headunit
So I just ordered the kit from wheelers and went 886, 900021 and the OME leaf pack, i'm looking to put Methods in 17's on it, any idea what size tire i could run and still be effective and not rub? I want this thing to be functional but look nice as well. Looking to order in the next few days if some one has the hookup on a connection for methods? Wanna run toyo open country Rt's too.
