I love when you find new mods that get you excited about TW like a nubile virgin troll.

I seriously don't know how I've gone over 2 years w/o doing these cheap 5-minute mods:

    886 Reverse Light bulbs
    Yellow Wire mod

A tractor got me and the tow truck that attempted to save me, out. Lol. This is my first 4wd and I thought I engaged 4lo and the differential lock but I didn't. I was wondering what all that beeping noise was. Turns out I could've possibly made it out if I had it something other than 4hi.

Ended up getting stuck in mud on a path to the side of a cabbage field. No veggies were harmed!

    Glad it ended kinda okay!!

These trucks are finicky about engaging 4LO.. Add in the crappy actuator design on top of that..

4LO with a 5 speed is: stopped, clutch ALL the way in, same for switching back to 4HI. If its beeping then you're not in 4LO... Still gets me every once in a while too.

I'm considering the ABS kill switch and the locker anytime
EDIT: might also do 400W inverter anytime as well

What is the yellow wire MOD again?

So I want to run a PA out of my CB. What are you guys running? Does it need 12VDC or is it powered by the CB output?

If y'all haven't heard already Columbia lost a chopper down in Peru. Shitty way to go :(

If you do the 886 mod, I found some generic bulbs for super cheap @ lightexports.com. Total was $6.80 shipped for both bulbs.

They seem to have whatever bulbs you want: 880, 894, 886, 887, 888 etc.

I opted for 886, since the specs were the same as 887/888. There was no indication that lifespan or lumen output was different.

I will post before/after pics when I get them installed.

I want to do the ABS kill-switch mod too. I will probably use this write-up, since I have the Sport w/ VSC

RE: the "Anytime Inverter" mod - I read up on this, and it seems it just provides 400w all the time, but it still requires the ignition to be "On" correct? I wish it could be powered without the key in the ignition to be more on-demand, but I don't think anyone has successfully done this yet:

The YWM (yellow wire mod) enables TRAC in 4LO (similar to A-TRAC).

Here's some good videos showing it in action:
    http://youtu.be/liBYXljAMcQ
    http://youtu.be/TQxLeBbqZ5k
    http://youtu.be/G0AH1yIUp0A

I don't have a PA installed, but it doesn't need auxiliary power. Typically you would just plug the PA Horn into the 3.5mm input on the back of your CB, switch to PA Mode and press the Talk button! Then you can yell at joggers in the bike line :p (wait...maybe I should do this too :drevil:)

Ben, if you have Friday evening free, we could knock some of these electrical projects out. I might also have some time Sunday afternoon once my family leaves for home.

I've got a PA horn you can have. I've always just plugged it into the back of the CB and ran it off of that.

That would probably work out. We are leaving early Sat. for Leavenworth and won't be back til Mon. night.

That would work as long as it's a snug fit. You could also put a dab of solder on each lead if needed.

I wouldn't get the 891 though. It's only 8w, which is less than 1/2 the output of the OEM bulb.
