Outside Temperature/Compass Meter Stopped working????/

    The Accessory meter stopped working. I am pressing the on/off button and I am getting absolutely nothing. Has this happen to anyone???? Whats the fix??? Thanks

    Okay so I followed the write up from the link above and I got nothing. Basically everything is together. What I did noticed was a black burned looking spot in the bottom right corner of the display. (Pictures included). Do you guys think that this is the problem????????

    That spot is normal. Everyone has it.

    Did you re-solder the 510 resistor? Even though the resistor is still there, you need to add solder to the sides. I put a red circle around the part that you need to solder. There are small cracks in the solder that are hard to see. So you need to add more.

    Just wanted to say that the tips and instructions were a huge help. Thanks a lot. Everything worked to the T. There was no way I was going to spend $1000 on the Accessory meter but I was would have been bummed if it didn't work. Follow the instructions and you'll save $1000 in about 30 minutes!!

    Mine just stopped....I wacked it came back on, was good for a few days, now it wont turn on at all. I will try this.

    The spot is normal. It is not a burn. It is an artifact of the manufacturing process for a vacuum fluorescent display.

    Nice pics, by the way.
