Here’s my cut list for this project

This is the cut list I sent my local lumber yard and for $70 of labor I got back something like 23 perfectly cut boards. Being a cabinet if it’s not EXACTLY 90 degree cuts you’re screwed. So here’s my cut list to fit a short bed truck, accounting for a tonneau cover and 56” sliders with locking handles sticking out.

Truck Bed Drawer— all 1/2 inch furniture grade plywood

    Outer Box-
    Top & bottom. 58x20.5 x2
    Sides. 58x15 x2
    Back. 19.5x15 x1

    Drawer-
    Bottom. 33.25x18 x1
    Sides. 56x13.5 x2
    Back & divider 17x13.5 x2
    Shelf bottom. 22.75x17 x1
    Shelf front. 17x6. x1
    Top face plate. 20.5x9 x1
    Bot face plate. 20.5x7 x1

    Drawer Lids-1/2”
    Lid 1. 27x18 x1
    Lid 2. 23x18 x1
    End Cap. 6x18 x1
    Cubby bottom 6x17
    Cubby side 6x17

    Stove Pocket-
    Cutting board 22.75x16.5 x1
    Sides. 22.75x5 x2
    Stove board 22.75x14 x1

    Definitely like this...

I agree, I use the Rubbermaid container method and it sucks getting everything in and out svery time.

The worst when you need one item and IT’S ALWAYS IN THE BOTTOM TUB. And in bear country you gotta pack it all away each night or string it up. Hassle. I hate hassle

Hey I hope it helps you with any ideas or projects you are working on. I know I’ve pulled ideas from others and it’s helpful to see how it works for them. I love this drawer, the only negative is that wood gets heavy. But for me easily worth the trade off as set up and clean up are so easy it’s stupid

Hi Papa Dave, Love this drawer system. I too am tired of shuffling tubs around. I would like to attempt to build this for my tacoma. Would it be too much to ask for a list of your drawer slides besides the 56" you already referenced.
I ordered the Fulterer 5400L Heavy Duty Slide 56 inch Lock In/Lock Out (Cabinet Parts.com) today and some of the other hardware but was unsure of what other slides you may have ordered. Any help would be so appreciated and tips on the build would be welcomed. Appreciate all the pics and cut list you provided!!

    Thanks so much!!
