If I were to roll my passenger window down it drops the front of the window down about a 1/2”. If I roll the window up there is a gap about 1/4” on the back of the window where it meets the door. I am able to use my hand and apply pressure to get it oriented right so it closes like it should.

I have taken the inner door trim off before so that’s not a problem. I’m just curious if anyone knows how the window is held in place before I take it apart. Will it be as simple a tightening a bolt to hold that side of the window in a holder of some sort?

    any ideas are appreciated.

You can try to check the window motor, actuator and sensor in the window.

Either a bolt fell out (happens often on the older Lexus cars I work on) or one of the plastic tabs broke off the glass.
If the bolt fell out, put it back in with blue Loctite. If the tab is broken, you will need new glass.

Just got around to fixing this. The bolt fell out and was in the bottom of the door. I found the sweet spot to put the bolt back in was by removing the speaker and rolling the window down so the bolt hole is parallel with the hole where the speaker was.

I've seen this countless times at Lexus. Just remember to use blue Loctite so it won't happen again.

Also, don't overtighten the bolt. Snug is fine, there is a plastic piece that you don't want to deform.

If its the actuator then order it offline & take it with you to get repaired. Lots of times they sell those items in a package & you don't need the electric window motor & other shit. It sucks cause the parts package is the only way to buy it from Toyota. It's over $300 for that 1 window package for an 08 corolla. You can order a generic window actuator offline for a lot cheaper. I did this for my wife's driver window, it was falling off track when used. The generic actuator is going 2 years strong so far no problems.

I just did this repair so for anyone with a similar problem I uploaded a pic of the bolt that commonly falls off. Once you get the door panel off roll down the window and remove the speaker it should be right there. :)

Does HELP or anyone make the replacement pads for the glass? I know they made them for GM products, you could remove the old one and epoxy the new one to the glass to salvage the window.
