I just drilled and tapped two holes into the swing out. 2 bolts, washers and lock washers, and it's been solid ever since. I don't have their bracket though (I just made one from scrap i had laying around) so I'm not sure what theirs is made for. I vaguely remember someone saying they were just going to use rivets for it. Don't know if that worked or not :notsure:

What I did was pull the wires out of the loom to give me more wiring so I didn't have to do any splicing. With the bracket, I use a clamp to figure the position, because you can mount the bracket in 2 different positions. What I mean is, the bracket horizontal or vertical the gate. After I have where I wanted the camera, I then drilled 2 holes and used the extra rivets from the table. The view is practically spot on.

What is the recommended Hi-Jack length for mounting up to the swingout tire carrier? Will the 60" fit or will be that too long to mount up? Any help or input would be great! Also is there a way to lock up the Hi-Lift onto the swing out or do I just use a cable and lock? I have my bumper on order but ETA is mid April. I can't wait! It's killing me.

You should stick with a 48" jack for the gate. There is not a way provided that locks it but a cable or locking know could be added easily.

Thanks Tyler. That will help me when I buy a new Hi-lift.

The spring mechanism that closes the latch on my bumper seized and I broke the handle trying to get to release. Is there any way to replace these.20160229_142136.jpg

That's a bummer. I put bearing grease all over the springs on both of mine to avoid this. I would recommend that when you get a new one. Just PM @Pelfreybilt

Do you guys think my stock leaf pack 2+1 (2.7L regular cab) could handle the weight of this bumper (with swingout) for awhile? before i purchased a new leaf pack

You'll have some bro stance but it's not like you won't be able to drive the truck. You've got bump stops right

Haha bro stance. Ok, it's taking me a bit of reading/researching to figure out what leaf pack I need for the extra 190# and keeping a stock height rear end.

Thanks, but due to typical A+ plus Pelfreybilt service they have already sent me a replacement.

Here's a question for everyone with a swing-out and a folding table. Did you have to cut down the studs that are welded on for the wing nuts that hold the table?

I had to cut them down so far I can barley get a wiz nut to thread itself all the way. If not the studs would rub my tailgate. The still do a little but I can't do anything about it now...

You may need to move the entire bumper back just a little to get them to clear. Its a tight fit in there.

Odd, typically they clear by ~an inch and only one or two I know of are very close. The bumpers are all pretty much identical within a very small margin. I wonder if there are differences in the contours on the tailgates, you wouldn't think so. Since I have only heard on one or two that are uncomfortably close like yours it is puzzling.

Huh... that's odd. I wonder if there are slight frame differences? I say because on my HC, the lines of the fender well do not match up with my bumper. It appears pushed forward, but I can't move the bumper back the inch or so it needs.
