Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
A shame. They also ‘teamed up’ with Fieldcraft back in June, supposedly outfitted their trucks with all the armor. Hope it was new stock and not the clients who have been waiting for months.
    This is a disaster.

It’s important to stay calm and give them a chance to speak up on the status of things. I’m calm and I just gave them $5k. IMHO, their only mistake is making some vague statements online that caused concern. Not very professional but it’s a family business. I have been trying to contact them (as have a lot of people I’m sure) and I’ll update once I have word. No response by next week, maybe I take steps....but I want to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

Well not "nothing". They were prompt to send out a thank you swag box a few days after ordering.
so I have a pint glass, bottle opener some stickers and a t-shirt.

If I had an order in with them right now, I would most certainly do whatever I had to do to get my money back asap. dispute with CC, paypal, or whoever. If everything turns out good, .., great.....re-order with them when that happens. if not, spend my hard earned money elsewhere. I hope they can "right the ship" and get things straightened out

This is my intention as well. Always give the benefit of the doubt, and give everyone the chance to correct their mistakes. Being in SoCal and their front bumper design is the nicest, and they do alum...so want them to make it.

At the end of the day - People who have delayed orders, preorders, deposits etc, have a right to be upset / worried. With the statement that was made, it leaves a lot of room for speculation and rumors to start to fly. You couple that with Michael Meier being let go (which I don't know about the everyone else, thats really the only person I interacted with) and it really adds to the cause for concern. Finally with the impromptu social media comments by Pelfrey with no further update continues to add to the choatic uncertainty.

People want to know what happened to their money. Where is their order?

First and foremost Pelfrey owed it to their current customers to provide them all with the necessary updates. Regardless of past performance, the fact remains, as a business, you have to maintain that same level performance and customer service. The tides can turn quick in a customer service oriented business, and reputations can be damaged fairly quickly with just a small misstep. This isn't just a TW Mob deal, its human nature. Look at any business that has had negative media attention and look at how quickly they are damaged and have to go an offensive and the amount of money it takes to come back from even a little negative attention. Pelfrey is known for a lot of amazing things, and they have provided a great product in the past, and there are great news stories out there from all the customers they have had, but right now, this is casting a very dark shadow over them.

As a customer who has a deposit in on a dual swingout, I am concerned, I have reached out to my CC company to see my options on the mater due to the length of time from when I placed the deposit. I would prefer not to file a dispute and get the product that I have wanted since I first discussed this with Michael back in Jan but will do what I need to do to ensure I am not out on my ass

Its a shitty situation for all us customers, and a shitty situation for the Pelfrey's. I am hoping for the best.

I must have missed the part about Michael being let go and signing an NDA. Where did that information come from? I spoke with him and Satin both last week.

Sorry for being completely self absorbed, but other vendors will suffer from the fallout as well. Confidence/trust will be shattered and customers will be skittish moving forward no matter which vendor they choose.

This is sadly true. I am about to give $600 to another vendor on the site here and have found myself hesitating a little. At the end of the day, however, I want the product and will have to have some trust. Hopefully everything works out!

Not being self absorbed...it is a concern, customers will be less willing to commit their funds without a product in stock, and it will become a domino effect

I will dig up his post.

My understanding of NDAs are generally specific in nature, Typically when you sign an NDA working with a company, it is to protect the intellectual property (IP) / prevent you leaving and taking all the knowledge elsewhere. If you sign an NDA upon leaving the company, it is usually tied to a severance to ensure you don't discuss the nature of your departure. This is what is concerning to me.

    • If I took $2k-$3k from each of my friends in exchange for Toyota armor and I died....I would hope they wouldn't "shit on" my grave.
    • If I took $2k-$3k from each of my friends and spent that money on something other than producing their armor.....I can see why they would be upset.
The reality is that we don't know what happened. Pelfreybilt promised an update after the holiday weekend and they have not followed through with that promise.

When you say stuff like this
It makes it sound like you are saying "My experience with the Pelfrey's is more important than your experience with the Pelfrey's"
It is not a very good way to reassure people that they are "doing everything they can."

It’s been one and a half business days since they posted their statement. After the holiday doesn’t necessarily mean 9am on Tuesday morning.

Look if there was any hope for an infusion by an invester I think they would have posted something saying it’s looking good etc...

Guess im different and know how hard I worked for my money.. $500 (hell even $100) is a lot of money to me and i would be beyond mad to see an update like this. Couldn't imagine having a couple thousand wrapped up with this company. But I also think its crazy the lead times companies are able to put on their products. If there is a demand, hire more workers. Make your company something more or turn away customers. That's why companies like trail gear have grown and been so successful.

I have dropped a lot of money on truck parts and have always had an update on these parts at least every 2 weeks if not every week. Just good business practice. No update? Id call and get one. Even if they said yes its still being processed or it was just cut or being finished welding.

Hopefully their website/ordering is stopped so more people don't get fooled into this scam. If it where me I would be filling a cc or paypal dispute.

I saved for 8 months to order their full-set of armor. Still, trying to give them time to put out an official update. I agree that good communication is important to running a good business and keeping customers happy, especially when there are delays.
